“Nice walk.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2014

I walk this path a lot as I live fairly close to it. It used to be the railway line to Portland but in recent years has been tarmacked to create a level walk/cycle path. This is a shared path with no designated cycle/walk area, however this makes for a rather stressed walk as some cyclists appear to use it as a road and travel too fast. The walk itself passes through some pleasant areas with good views and Sandsfoot Castle offers the chance to buy an ice-cream or coffee en route. There is also a toilet. You can leave the path here, or walk all the way from Weymouth to Ferry Bridge. A very nice walk and cycle path but if you have young children you will need to be alert.

“Rodwell Trail”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2014

Started at the beginning and really enjoyed this excellent walk. Flat so can be used by all individuals, however you need to be careful of cyclists.. There is Sandsfoot castle on the walk, which is well worth a visit and if you should need a light refreshment there is also a café and toilet facilities.

“Nice and smooooth!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2014 via mobile

Pushed my wife along in her wheelchair very easily. Only did up to Sandsfoot castle and cafe but enjoyed it all the same. Like someone else I would have given it a higher rating if the path from Wyke Road had been open, getting all that way and finding it closed was a real bummer. On reflection we would have started from the beginning but you never know till you try.
One thing to look out for are all the cyclists on a Sunday morning bomb up and down. Think they own the path. Mamil alert!

“AKA Rodwell Trail”

Well worth the effort if you have a few hours there and back to spare. Halfway along the Cafe was open, certainly in March, at the Sandsfoot Castle.
