“Faulty towers - don`t go”
Reviewed 11 July 2013

We went to our room 138( clever photography make these rooms look bigger than they are) ,Got to our room went to the loo lifted the toilet seat it came off in my hand, couldn`t get electricity went to phone reception surprise surprise the phone didn`t work so I went to reception and they gave me a fob I reported the faults.Got back to the room went to put the cameras and purse & wallet in the safe yes you`ve guessed it the safe didn`t work. The handyman came to fix the bits and bobs and he said the batteries in the safe were duds he had to take the batteries from another room.We went to have dinner I ordered steak pie the waitress brought lasagne I told her but as I was weary I just accepted it.Next morning at breakfast we were offered toast we didn`t get it.there`s more the best thing about this Butlins style place is departing.ps the people next door had to wait over an hour to get a key for their room as no-one could find key/fob to get them in never ever again

Room Tip: Just don't go unless you like holiday camps without entertainment

For a basic hotel we had a great experience, facilities were clean rooms were spotless indoor outdoor pool, sauna, steam room & gym which even in the best hotels you usually have to pay extra for were all free and unlimited, breakfast was great every morning, my one niggling thing was that personally I would have liked more fruit. Staff were all friendly and helpful location is fantastic and we had great views of Weymouth beach.

Room Tip: always ask for a sea view and opt for late check out like we did had a lovely morning in the pool f...

Impressed by staff friendliness and efficiency - a budget priced but by no means budget standard hotel. Room standard could compete with many top class places although away from the front façade, the exterior of the buildings looked rather like a warehouse. Back rooms do not have a view of the sea.
The location is superb with sweeping views of Portland bay!

Room Tip: get a front room jf you want a view

We booked this hotel knowing its not a 5* hotel so didn't expect the treatment of one, however the staff at front office are very helpful and gave us everything we needed. The rooms are very comfortable and ideal. The hotel is very family orientated and caters for families which is something you don't see nowadays and I would be happy to take my children here. The restaurant staff are a little young so lack hotel experience but we all need to start somewhere. Overall - I would stay at this hotel again and I did choose to eat at the hotel which again was very nice indeed.

Overall we really enjoyed our one night stay here, however it definitely needs a few finishing touches to make it right. The reception area gives the hotel a really good first impression. The rooms themselves are really nicely finished and well worth the price however the actual building they are in isn't the nicest thing to look at! If you don't ask for a sea view you get put in a building at the back of the hotel which looks like a cross between an American motel and an old school building! The rooms have everything you need with flat screen TV, kettle, bath etc however we were a bit disappointed with a couple of bits. The handle was missing from the bathroom window and toilet seat was hanging off which both should have been picked up by hotel staff.
The restaurant looked really nice at night however we didn't eat in it until breakfast. Breakfast was EXCELLENT, don't know where other people stayed who have slated it because I can't fault a thing! Full English was beautiful, and there was cereal, pastries, fruit and juice etc as well. The only thing that let the restaurant down was the less than helpful member of staff behind the bar at night, customer service training obviously went in one ear and out the other!
Overall, a nice stay and we won't hesitate to return.

Room Tip: Choose a sea view!

We arrived at the hotel and checking I. Was flawless and quick. The room was clean but the toilet seat was on the floor. We were disappointed as the web site and menu said that A la carte was only available on Fridays and Saturdys. It was not until our third night that we noticed another menu contradicting this. On checking we discovered that the full menu was available. We ate there the rest of our stay Food was excellent and could not fault it. The staff seemed a bit young and inexperienced For example we had to chase the waitress fora menu. Tables were not cleared properly and we had to ask for cutlery. Staff were very friendly but management need to tighten up on this when charging £80 for a meal for two (granted we had a couple of drinks!!) Overall we enjoyed our stay and if you get a food deal then I would recommend it providing you are not expecting 5 star

I have looked through other peoples reviews and i do argee with some of the comments.
The Hotel itself inside , reception, meal areas are modern and have amzing art work.
The rooms are modern (need doors that fit) but the look of the outside of the hotel - butlins look isnt great. that could definalty do with being updated.
I asked about this during our stay and i was told it is a listed building so it can't be done.

The reception staff and waiter's / waitress's are very good but have too much to do , there clearly isn't enough staff but the jobs they do are fantasic couldn't fault them.
Mangnement need to do some work though!

If you look past things and stop complaining unless its a major problem it's a wonderful place to stay. we really enjoyed our stay and are already booked up to return. The food is great , we coudln't belive how much food we got for our money and it was delious. :-) The view is amazing , so close to the sea.

This isn't a 5 star hotel so people shouldn't be expecting it to be.

Just enjoy it!!!!!

Room Tip: 1st floor as you drive in on left so you are facing the sea. amazing views day and night.
