“wonderful cottage in fantastic location”

We stayed for 3 nights over the Christmas period & found the cottage was not only charming & cosy but also in a fantastic location for most of Weymouth's attractions... once parked up we were in walking distance of all the amenities: beach, town centre, harbour etc

“Would stay again”
Reviewed 25 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

Location: Was to find, very convenient for town and seafront.
Cottage: Spotlessly clean, comfortable if a little cramped. Would not recommend for guests with mobility issues or small children. If you are able bodied (and less than 6 foot tall), it's more than adequate.
Would highly recommend for couples or families with older children.
Only down side - no WiFi :(

“Compact, cosy, close to all amenities”
Reviewed 2 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Although small this cottage is very comfortable and had everything we needed for a restful holiday. On arrival we found the cottage to be very clean and tidy and access to the cottage was easy. The train station is a 3 minute walk from the cottage and we travelled to Dorchester (10 mins) and Poole (40 mins) on the local train service. There are also a number of bus routes running from the esplanade and we used this service to get to Portland and then walk along the coastal road to Portland Bill. Also plenty of bars, restaurants, cafes and close to cinema and bowling alley and lots of shops.

The stairs in the cottage are quite steep (as they are in lots of older properties) so if you're not too mobile they could prove difficult for you. However, we loved the rope 'bannister'. The cottage is 'compact' and there is no outdoor area at the rear of the property so it is probably suited more to couples rather than families whose children might need some space to run around, Having said that the two bedrooms are a decent size with ample storage.

We found the description of the cottage to be fair and were not disappointed at all,

“Cosy and close to beech and town”
Reviewed 10 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Spent four nights at this cosy cottage other than going to the supermarket when we first arrived we left the car on the drive for the whole stay waking along the sea front and into town as all short walks also a short walk to the station where we caught the train into Dorchester. The cottage on arrival was very clean and tidy although both of us pensioners we managed the very tight and narrow stairs with ease . The only thing we found we could have done with was a microwave for cooking things like scrambled eggs ect and a couple of waste bins

“Lovely spotless cottage very close to town centre but still quiet”
Reviewed 9 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We rented this cottage at the end of September 2015. It was spotless throughout and although quite small, had loads of character and the available space has been used well. Close to the town centre but still a very quiet area. Parking was a bonus. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come again.

“nice cottage ,but not suitable for familys with children and older relatives”
Reviewed 6 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

too small for family of 4 ,no view could only see a wall and other peoples rubbish when you looked out front of cottage and a wall out side kitchen door .i would have liked to be able to cook some food but there was not enough room to put any thing let alone cook .if you were a bigger size person or pregnant lady or elderly you would have trouble with the stairs and getting around the cottage
had trouble with parking and getting out and into cottage drive due to road was only big enough for one car very difficult when other cars were parked on road
no wifi .this cottage would be ideal for couples without children or students ,who like going out to eat and like pubs and be a base for their needs
i wish there had been more photos of cottage before i booked as i could only view the lounge, but now suddenly there seem to be more photos of the cottage since my holiday.
we left cottage after a view days due to feeling uncomfortable and weather , this was our main holiday and came home stressed not what we wanted from our holiday.
i have photos but a present can not forward them on to you

Management Response
15 Sep 2015
We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay and I know the weather was particularly very poor during this time. As you described during our phone conversation, you only had seen the one photo from a catalogue which also had a limited description. I have no notion of this advertisement and can only assume its from a third party associated with trip advisor. I can assure you that since we completed the renovation work back in October 2014 the photos and description has always been on the letting website and feel it is honest and reflective on the size due to the age and characteristics of this period. The map and directions that I sent where clear and avoid the access issues you had getting to the driveway. We always appreciate feedback and certainly the lack of WIFI is an area where we can improve.
