This is billed as a Christmas Adventure between October and January and sure it is aimed at kids, but what a let down in a way that only we can manage in the UK.
We visited Stockeld Park on the strength of the advertising "Enjoy breathtaking parkland & fantastic illumination after dusk" and it was very very poor. The fantastic illumination were clumps of what appeared to be mainly cheetahs and deer, with cardboard cut-outs of other fairly tale creatures, spread very thinly indeed. At £5 per adult and £4 per child this was not value for money.
The Christmas store was massive inside with a sparse collection of christmas trinkets. The restaurant, well what a complete disgrace, we counted 5 waitresses who just walked around occasionally clearing up left over plates and cups, but never cleaning the tables. At one point there were at least 10 tables with food, dirt and rubbish all over them. Eventually one girl decided to spray the dirt away and used the same dirty cloth for 2 tables, after brushing the food on the floor (which looked as though it had been through several days of food fights and never seen a vacuum).
This place is billed as a premier attraction, ice skating, norwegian skiing, fantastic lights and a maze, but it was a very sorry disappointment that only we can manage in the UK, give the customer very little but charge over the odds for it.
We have to strongly advise against this place, it is not value for money.
