Fantastic stay

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 2 Oct 2020
Me and my partner booked the Hideout House for 2 nights and it was a truly amazing stay. The staff upon arrival was really polite and we easily found the house.

The house is so well equipped with great details like mood lighting and had a stocked bar, chilled Prosecco on arrival. We were celebrating our lockdown engagement so it was a real treat! The jacuzzi bath is so luxurious and all the decor just makes it feel really romantic.

We would highly recommend staying here, the area is great for the scenery and bars.

Thank you!

Myself and my girlfriend visited Windermere in September 2020 for a surprise trip for my birthday. We were booked to stay at the Cranleigh Boutique. Firstly, I must say the hotel were excellent in regards to the current Covid-19 pandemic and allowing us to alter the original booking to a time that worked better for us (originally we were meant to go just after the national lockdown ended).

We had booked to stay in Luxury Room 5 and the room did not disappoint. The bed was extremely big and comfortable, Champagne in the fridge upon arrival and a large jacuzzi bath to relax in. The staff were also extremely helpful upon arrival as well!

The only downside and this is probably due to the covid pandemic is we did think the breakfast options were a little limited but saying that the food served at breakfast was still extremely nice!

We will hopefully be returning sometime in the future.

We stayed for a couple of nights in the Sanctuary suite at the Cranleigh Boutique and found it lived up to its name. The bedroom was decadently decorated with everything you could need. (A big TV with soundbar, couch. digital fire, mini bar with welcome drinks and personalised lighting. ) . The bathroom was bigger than my first flat and expertly designed with big rain shower and bath. The garden housed a private hot tub with bose outdoor speakers. My hubbie and I had a fantastic chilled time there and we agreed it will be an annual trip. Thank you so much everyone at Cranleigh for making it such a great break.

Many thanks for your review, as company policy we do not respond to reviews publicly but instead prefer a more personal approach should you wish to expand on your experience in our hotel

Another company policy we are now extremely passionate about is to try and protect the mental well being of our staff, negative reviews on websites have a huge mental impact on the wellbeing of our staff, especially when staff members are described in the reviews.

Covid 19 has brought about many operational changes as we adapt to a new normal and welcome guests back to our accommodation offer.

Staff may be in training or new both in the kitchen/ front of house or reception. Mistakes do happen occasionally and we believe in asking our customers to communicate any issues at the time, giving the team chance to rectify any issues rather than our staff reading about them after the event.

Positive feedback is proven to boost staff morale which encourages personal growth, happiness and less stress in their lives.

Constructive feedback we need to improve and iron out any re occurring issues that help us become better for our guests and we encourage this from our guests.

Please think about the impact your words have on people and be kind and together help us address mental health and personal growth

Statistics now show that we are 10-12 times more likely to write a negative review over a positive review. I feel it is now extremely important to vocalise the impact these reviews are having on the industry and the welfare of hospitality employees. I thank you for reading this and hope it brings awareness and change in the words we all use to communicate moving forward.

Had an enjoyable stay at the Cranleigh’s ‘escape suite’ . Had previously stayed three years ago in the ‘sanctuary suite’ so was looking forward to returning .
The suite was extremely comfortable , nicely decorated ,bed was huge and clean lovely bathroom shower was fab .Booked a special discounted rate and our Prosecco was chilled ready for us with the glasses already out - a nice touch . Excellent breakfast delivered to our suite in the morning thank you to the staff who cooked and brought it down to us on time .
There were just a couple of points I felt could be addressed to make our stay a 5 star rather than 4. Lovely little terrace to sit on as the sun shone for us but really needs to be looked after and remember about . Outside is in need of a lick of paint , french doors cleaned , cobwebs sprayed and the patio checked and swept after each party as there was a rusty nail by the chair and a hair bobble left from a previous guest . Just a little more attention to detail would bring it up to where it should be I felt . Would return as overall a good stay in Bowness-on-Windermere .

Lovely room (no 16) very clean, and had everything that you could want. Breakfast was good - nice that they are sperating guests out into slots, felt reassured and it's the best we've had all week in terms of covid! Only downside was there was a leak developed in the bathroom (looks like it was from upstairs after they'd showered). Good do with a smarten up around the edges in the communal area to get it back to being complete 5 star standard

Whilst ultimately disappointed with our stay at the Bin Vivante 'Luxury Smart Villa' I feel it is important to start by pointing out that it was very comfortable and clean, the beds were fab and the cinema room was impressive.

However, it certainly does not live up to its billing and does not justify the price.

Its just the little things you would expect to be right for the price:

- It wasn't very smart, if you want more than the dozen TV channels and radio stations available on free sat then make sure you have your own on demand subscriptions and Netflix/NOWTV accounts (which you can't actually watch from the TVs in the bathrooms). Make sure you have a PS4 account as well to use that in the cinema.

- The user interface on the tablets and TVs isn't all that user friendly and you don't have the same options in all rooms (except for the adverts for the food and drinks in the restaurants/bars of course)

- No coffee. Not even instant coffee that you would expect at budget hotels. I would have expected a coffee machine to be honest, Nespresso maybe like they have in their other, cheaper, boutique suitesand rooms but there was literally nothing.

- No instructions for anything, it's all good trying to be 'Smart' and having fancy oven/grill/induction hob/extractor fan etc but maybe leave instructions in a drawer

- Broken lid on hot tub. I get these things happen, but when guests are paying such a premium - maybe fix it.

- Huge, amazing baths. Really impressive, but only one person can see the TV.

Overall, it was really comfortable and we all slept well. But for the price and the promises - it felt dissapointing overall. Only book this if you get a great deal, there are better options for cheaper (some even offered by Cranleigh!)
