“enjoyable stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2013

We stayed over the bank holiday for a couple of nights. Our stay here was very enjoyable we were made to feel very comfortable and Paul and Leslie were excellent hosts. I cannot fault this Guest House in any way. We were in Room 2 and had a view of the lake which was lovely, the room was spotless and the shower was powerfull. The bed was so comfy I did'nt want to get out of it and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The location is super right in the heart of all the lovely pubs and restaurants. Excellent value for money - thank you Paul and Leslie we will be back

We booked 4 rooms Friday and Saturday nights and everyone agreed that this is a great place to stay. Excellent location, easy walking to everywhere.
Like most B & B's yes it is old, but superbly presented and immaculately clean. Paul and Leslie were extremely obliging hosts and any request was met and a special mention to their breakfasts - we asked for my daughter if the sausages were gluten free, no they were not but next morning for breakfast she was served gluten free sausages with no noise or fuss, excellent service.
Value for money a great place to stay.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights and were made very welcome. It's a cosy and comfortable little guesthouse just a 5 minute walk from the promenade and lake. Room was very clean and comfortable with good quality furniture and bed, bathroom also spotless. Towels and bed linen were also good quality. Room was a decent size, although I don't suppose you go to the Lakes to stay indoors anyway!

Paul and Leslie can't do enough for you and are very friendly and helpful. Breakasts were very nice as was the breakfast room. There's tea and coffee in the rooms which were replenished daily (I can recommend the hot chocolate).

Cheap and cheerful. Good location with parking. Bathroom required updating, shower dribbled versus good spray but hot. Be aware that doggy smells and hospitaliers' supper may well linger in communal corridors. Helpful notes placed all over the room; we found this too much. Nice linen and bedding alongside fluffy towels. We recognise that it was a cold snap but we could not warm ourselves sufficiently with the one small radiator and the draft eminating from the freezing ensuite.
Rather unresponsive to dining needs of clientele perhaps a cost cutting exercise; number of teabags in teapot, quality/number of toast slices, one egg, one sausage; meagre breakfast in terms of quantity set number of items.

I am currently in the B and B writing this review after my second nights stay. Really nice place, good location and great view of the lake from the room we are in. On Friday we turned up at 10 in the morning and were able to check into our room. I understand the room was probably empty but this made our stay so much more pleasant, so thanks for this. Rooms are average to good but very clean and comfortable and excellent value for money.
If you are wanting to visit Bowness this place is perfect. A review on here comments on the car parking being a block away (it's behind the hotel) and there being signs and rules everywhere. There are helpful signs in the bedroom and the only rule is make sure you shut the front door, especially if its raining.
Will defo stay here again on my summer visit to the Lakes.

Location is ideal - in the very centre.

Car park is located behind property, down a slope (if my car was worth more I might have been concerned about it being away from the road in the dark but I saw no evidence of trouble).

We stayed in an attic room which was very small but fine just to sleep in.

Whole place very clean, owners very friendly.

Breakfast was average - quite tasteless and dry but not offensive.

There are other B&B's in the area I have much preferred but for a couple of nights and for the money, this one was fine.

Good hosts, clean room, good breakfast, what more could you want! We had a lovely stay and were made to feel very welcome, would recommend to family and friends, they also had private car park, which is an added bonus
