This is a great guest house. The deluxe room we had was well accessorised, was spacious and had a good ensuite bathroom. Super comfy mattress and an excellent night's sleep.

Only negative comments about the accommodation was that a coat of emulsion wouldn't go amiss in the room we were in, but maybe this is hand on a rolling programme as the common areas were all fresh. The carpet in the bedroom was a bit stained and there was a faint whiff of animals but that didn't spoil the stay or bother us as we have 2 dogs. Still, at £222 for 2 midweek nights this needs addressed I think.

Location is great, lovely gardens and very short walk to town and lake. There is a very steep hill but I'm sure this worked off a calorie or 2! Tight calves in the morning!!

The owner was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was fab.

Recommended.

Room Tip: We got an upgrade without asking to a Deluxe room - was very spacious.

Situated close to Bowness Bay,this abode is the perfect place for a tranquil break. The lovely owners,Tony and Liz Blaney offer genuine hospitality and exceeding high standards of personal service at their 200-year old home, which is set in half an acre of its own beautifully landscaped gardens. All the rooms are en suite and there are twin as well as double rooms.
We had the four-poster room had its own wet room with heated floor which is truly that extra luxury touch- the power shower is big enough enough for two,and comes with body jets and massage pebbles on the floor. the choice on entering the guesthouse was belgian chocolates or bubbly....easy guess,is it not?
Breakfast comes in hearty or healthy versions, each field a superb offering with fresh ingredients.
Outside, the gardens are spectacular offering nooks and crannies for a quiet read or a lazy cuddle in the swing seat. We visited The Arts & Crafts House in nearby Blackwell, had a ride on the Windemere lake steamers and a lovely visit to Wordsworth House

Good location close to the lake, restaurants, shops etc. The walk up is hard going if you're not fit but the hotel is lovely once you get inside. Our room was a bit on the small side but then we weren't in Bowness to look at 4 walls. Comfortable sleigh bed and good facilities overall. Lovely bathroom though the Lakeland water pressure meant we couldn't get the best out of the multi-jet shower and the spa bath was very noisy. Welcoming hosts and an excellent breakfast. We'd stay there again.

beautiful quite location just 5 minutes walking distance to the lake and an amazing variety of fantastic places to eat and drink. The hotel owners and staff were very friendly and knowledgable of the area and welcoming. The guesthouse is situated at the top of a hill with incredible views of the lake. If you are looking for high quality homely comfort with beautiful scenic surroundings mixed with the convenience of only being 5 minutes walking distance down the hill to all the lake windermere attractions, eateries and pubs then we would highly recommend The Fairifield. The high quality of the hotel and the location made our holiday in the Lake District an unforgetfull experience.

Lovely couple of days break away Room was a wee bit on the small side but very comfortable. reasonable rates for B&B and breakfast was excellent . Would certainly stay there again if we go back to Bowness-on-Windermere but we found the prices in town very expensive

Room Tip: Guest House is at the top of a steep hill

We have just spent a couple of nights in Bowness, Windermere and were made very welcome at the Fairfield. The guest house is reasonably priced, comfortable, some rooms and better than others, relaxing and the breakfasts were very good.

Room Tip: Room 2 has a double bath and double shower and looks over the garden.

Lovely older home converted into suites. Tony was great in greeting and showing us around. The room was lovely, nicely decorated with all kinds of 'extras'. Nice furnishings. Wonderful baths. Wifi was spotty. Best in the common areas. Very nice breakfast.
