warm welcome at Elim. Lovely breakfast. Good location a few minutes walk into Bowness and about 20 mins walk into Windermere town. Would be happy to stay at the Elim if we return to Bowness. Margaret and Brian told us they are investing in new beds so willprobably be even more comfy next visit

My husband and I both had a lovely overnight stay at Elim Bank Hotel. Margaret met us with a cheery smile and was lovely and helpful on the reception desk.
Our room was room 2 overlooking the front of the bed and breakfast. It was nice and clean with a good selection of tea and coffee making facillities. The bathroom was small but had a bath which was great. The bed was lovely and comfortable and we both had a great nights sleep.
Breakfast was super with cereals, juice and a full english with toast, tea and coffee. Nothing was too much trouble.
The bed and breakfast is a very charming place. It's lovely and homely, just right for us.
When we left Margaret came out to give us a very cheery wave goodbye! We would definately go back if we went up to the Lake District again.

We had a one night stay at the Elim Bank Hotel and loved it. From the moment we arrived Brian made us feel very welcome, was a delight throughout our visit and a wonderful host. Margaret does the most fantastic breakfast - sausage to die for and everything else delicious! We have stayed in a number of B & Bs in Bowness, some failing miserably to live up to expectations. However the Elim Bank was brilliant. The property itself with its beautiful stained glass and traditional features was lovely. We hope to return soon.

We've just returned from a two day break in the Lake District, staying at the Elim Bank for two nights. First of all, a big thank you to the owners Brian and Margaret, who made us feel very welcome and who proved to be the perfect hosts throughout our stay at their beautiful hotel. The hotel is very charming and warm, lovely rooms with a good shower. It's right on the main road, so in minutes you're in the thick of Bowness. The breakfasts were made to order and freshly cooked to perfection. I will highly recommend this hotel and we will be returning in the future.

I stayed here a few weeks ago and did not enjoy my stay at all. I have a disabled drivers badge and offered to park away from the hotel the owner took offence to this. I go to bowness three times per year and I like to try different b&bs everytime. I would NOT recommend this hotel at all. The room had a strange smell, there was no light in the bathroom which was extremely small, the bed was lumpy and the breakfast was cold. I did not like the male owners attitude he was very rude and grumbled as he had to walk up the stairs because I asked him to come and check the bedroom door, he does not seem happy in his job and is not a people person. Maybe it is time for him to retire, I agree with the bad reviews on here. Maybe he likes the look of some people and not others and this sways his attitude towards you.
