Went for 2 nights on Friday and Saturday a couple of weeks ago... We were in room 5, has a lovely view of the lake from the room .... Fantastic comfortable bed , wanted to take it home with me !!! Spotlessly clean , not only our room but also the dining room for breakfast .... Talking of breakfast this was excellent, cooked right in front of you , couldn't do enough for us..... The owners are so lovely and we will Deffo be staying there again ...

We are a family of four - two adults, and two grown up children. This was the last of five hotels we stayed in, at the end of a Scotland road trip.

The staff were so friendly, and helpful. The hotel is decorated with amazing art - drawn by one of the staff members. The rooms were so clean. The shower did lack some 'power' though.

It was not the most comfortable of rooms, as we had to share two double beds. The view from the window was right onto the lakes.

Breakfast was cooked to order.

A nice family run hotel, but not for families.

Just got back from a weekend break This is a great base as is right in the centre and just a stones throw from the lake. The rooms are spotlessly clean and have great beds. The linen is of a high quality and clean and soft. We were made very welcome from the moment we came in to the time we left. Breakfast was good with plenty of tea toast a good choice which is cooked in the same room as you eat so a pleasant atmosphere. We had difficulty finding the car park do my tip is this. Turn into the belsfield hotel and take a right straight away. The car park is down here.
There are plenty of pubs shops and places to eat all within easy walk I would recommend the ship inn it's right on the lake and food was plentiful and tasty
All in all loved this trip and will be returning

Room in poor state of repair. Window sashes broken. Handbasin plug connector rod broken. Toilet cistern wall attachment in precarious state of make-do repair. Ultra cheap polyester curtains and bed linen. No soap bars provided in bathroom for handbasin or shower. Television did not function. Room and bathroom smelt unpleasant, and ingress of cigarette smoke from hosts smoking underneath bedroom window. Excessive noise from room above: snoring, footsteps and sound of toilet flushing. Peeling wallpaper. Hosts could not provide a bottle of Worcestershire sauce when asked to at breakfast. Hosts were pleasant but demanded payment in cash and did not offer receipt of payment.
Desperately needs a revamp.

We've stayed here twice now, would be more but we can't get in as it gets booked up so quickly. Rooms are beautifully decorated, plenty of room but cosy too. Breakfast cooked to order in front of you, can't go wrong! Lovely friendly family run B & B everyone makes you welcome.

Room Tip: The double rooms at the back of the house have lovely lake views.

We stayed here for a long weekend. The lake.is just two minutes walk away and public footpaths to scenic locations just across the road. There is a small car park at the back. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. They made sure our short stay was comfortable. The room we chose was on the first floor at the back with glimpses of Lake Windermere through the trees. It was vevy quiet. The room had a king size sleigh bed which was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was 'full English' or variations of but we did notice that 'Continental' could be provided by arrangement. In summary, great value money, very comfortable and perfect location. Highly recommended.

Just back from two nights at Field House, after a relaxing break, it is like a home-from-home, spotlessly clean in a perfect position minutes from the Lake and shops, restaurants etc. Everything was great, the room, the view, breakfast and the owners who were really friendly and welcoming. We would safely recommend Field House to family and friends and would not stay anywhere else in Bowness, can't wait to return. We stayed in room 1 which has a lovely Lake view.
We have only positive things to say about Field House.

Room Tip: Room 1 has a great view of the Lake
