Came here with ny wife and 4 month old baby for my 40th birthday in March. When we checked in we were told that we had been upgraded to a bigger apartment which was a really nice surprise.

The apartment was beautiful inside, with very high end appliances and immaculate finishes in all the rooms. We could not find fault with anything in the room and our 5 day stay was one of the nicest holidays we've had. We've already agreed that we will be returning in the future.

If you're thinking of going with a baby then the walk into Bowness is about 15 minutes pushing a pram. Usually by the time we got into Bowness the little one was fast asleep. The cot and high chair we rented from Marina Village were like new and our baby slept really well all week.

The food at the Marina Restaurant was amazing. Highly recommended if you fancy something tasty without having to go into Bowness. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

Thanks for the room upgrade and can't wait to come back.

We stayed in an apartment at the Marina for Easter 2014. The apartment was spacious, spotlessly clean and provided a great central location for trips out. The balcony was large and provided good views over the Marina. We took the ferry, which is a few hundred metres away to the other side of the Lake and cycled up to Wray castle one day - all in all, a nice relaxing Easter holiday.

Stayed in the pet friendly gramere cottage for the second time. This is just the most relaxing high quality accommodation set in the windemere marina village. Over looking all the boats and just a 15 minute stroll into bowness. The cottage has everything you could possibly need for a self catering cottage. Their is a newly built boathouse bar and restaurant with good quality food at typical lake district pricess. The only negative I can think of is the traffic noise, don't want to finish on a negative though this is great holiday cottage .we have found it cheaper to book direct with office has opposed to online booking

Stayed here for the Easter holiday weekend. Very good accommodation, would definitely stay again. Rented a two bedroomed "cottage" very comfortable and well equipped, short ( 20 min) lakeside stroll into Bowness.

This was our third visit. This time we decided to have a marina view. My mum came with us and therefore we booked Coniston Cottage. This was great, with 3 bedrooms (1 en-suite) and a bathroom downstairs. The cottage was well equipped and clean.Marina view was stunning and we were very lucky with the weather. The wi fi was repaired whilst we were there but was still a bit temperamental and I agree with the previous reviewer about tea and coffee facilities being provided. However these are 2 minor points and didn't spoil our holiday. The sink in our en-suite drained slowly on arrival but was repaired very quickly. We will be back though as it is in a lovely spot, our dog has great fun and the surrounding areas are lovely.

Room Tip: We didn't realise that the cottage next door has an upstairs bedroom which was above the master...

My husband and I just spent four nights at the Marina village whilst visiting the Lake District. My husband had stayed there twenty years ago when he was a child and had fond memories so we decided it would be a good place to stay.
We stayed in a new one bedroom apartment and it was really superb. The apartment was furnished to a really high standard and was absolutely spotless. Lots of cutlery, plates, glasses and kitchen equipment, massive dining area and lounge, huge bedroom and bathroom. I couldn't fault it at all. The only reason I didn't give the marina village 5 stars was because of a few minor things, namely I think it would have been a nice touch if you receive a welcome pack when you arrive (a pint of milk, tea, coffee and condiments), there was also no clothes airer so had to dry all washing on the radiators, the wifi was non-existent and because we had bad signal the whole time we were in the lakes it would have been useful to have had decent wifi in the apartment. A little shop in the village would have also been handy, just to sell those little things you need urgently (milk/toilet roll etc). All of these things are not much to ask when you could stay at the McDonald hotel up the road for £100 more over the 5 nights.
Other than that the marina village was really a wonderful place to stay, very luxurious, an absolutely beautiful location, a 5min walk from bowness. Would recommend it and definitely come back!!
