Reviewed 26 July 2014

booked a trip to take my elderly parents away for a few days booked into the corus and booked a lakeside view and so happy did because it was worth the small supplement for the stunning views ,we had booked an evening meal in the beautiful lakeside view restaurant and after a beautiful meal and nothing was too much trouble to the waiters and waitresses we had an aicove looking straight over the lake again a picture postcard view would definatly recomend the restaurant as in the morning we ate in the restaurant for breakfast which was superb

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor.

I am delighted to read that your stay was a success and that you enjoyed the views in particular. We are extremely fortunate to have completely unimpeded views of Lake Windermere, with Belle Isle in the foreground and the Fairfield horseshoe in the distance.

The food has been well received of late and once more, I am glad that this was to your liking. We currently have two dining options for our guests; the more rustic, traditional English dishes in our informal Brasserie or the fine dining option in the Restaurant, where attention to detail and technicalities of dishes is as much of a priority as the taste of the dishes.

Thank you once again for your review and hopefully we can welcome you back to the Belsfield in the future.

Kind regards,

Joseph Cobb

Just returned from a 2 night stay on a deal which included dinner, bed and breakfast. We stayed in room 50 which had amazing views across the lake. The room was newly refurbished to a very high standard with a shower room which again had high class fixtures and fittings, although a little on the small side it did not spoil the ambiance of the room. Dinner was delightful and beautifully presented in very pleasant surroundings. The hotel is still undergoing refurbishment, which did not affect our stay and the quality of the 'Laura Ashley' furnishings and colour schemes were beautiful. The only down side was breakfast on our second day, when at 9.10a.m my husband could only get one slice of bacon, as that was all that was left, and was told it would be 20 minutes before the servers would be replenished, as breakfast is scheduled to close at 9.30a.m. I cannot quite see the point of that!!!! All in all a wonderful stay and we will return.

Room Tip: Lake view rooms are worth the upgrade

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor.

I am delighted that your stay was a success and that you found the hotel to be in a "stunning location". We are, indeed very fortunate to have such commanding, unimpeded views of Lake Windermere and the fells beyond, whilst being only a stones throw away form Bowness itself.

The refurbishment seems to have been received well so far and once more I am glad that you too approve. The bedrooms have had a Laura Ashley finishings from top too bottom, as well as the downstairts lounges, Restaurant, Brasserie, reception and bar. Further more, we are now due to become Laura Ashley Hotel, The Belsfield, Lake District.

Thank you once again for your review and hopefully we can welcome you back to the Belsfield in the future.

Kind regards,

On arrival you enter this newly refurbished hotel's spacious and airy glass reception and you see the beautiful views across Lake Windermere. We were shown to our room and given a short tour of the dining room, terrace etc. and given a short history of the hotel a very pleasant and attentive young man, unfortunately whose name I can't remember. Our room was beautifully decorated and although there are still refurbishments going on we weren't bothered by any noise at all. We booked this stay on a Living Social deal but for the location and views from the garden terrace I will definitely be booking another stay here in the future. We didn't eat dinner in the hotel but the breakfast was lovely with a good choice of menu and excellent service.

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor.

I am pleased that your stay was such a success and that you approve of the refurbishment that we have gone through.

The location of the hotel of course is something that a number of people enjoy when they come to the Belsfield. We are incredibly fortunate to have unimpeded views over Lake Windermere and the fells beyond. This view is shared by 25 rooms, the restaurant, lounges, the Brasserie and of course the terrace. We believe that there is nowehere better to enjoy a nice relaxing afternoon.

I am glad that you enjoyed the service further more. The gentleman in question is called Csaba and he, like each and every member of staff's main aim is to make your stay more enjoyable and he will be most pleased that this has been the case.

Thank you once again for your review and hopefully we can welcome you back to the Belsfield in the future.

This was our first visit since the refurbishments started. Although there is still a few weeks to go we saw that the work on the rooms dining hall bar and public areas are of a very high standard.
We stayed in room 502 which had a lake view. We stayed in this room on our last visit and chose it because of the fantastic views of the gardens the lake and the hills in the distance.
The room isn't the big but fine for a short stay. It is well firnished and well decorated although attention to detail had been missed ie damp on the wall beside the window and the cup on the light not correctly fitted.
The dining hall is excellent and although we didn't stay for dinner on this occasion the breakfast is of a high standard
Once again the staff were excellent
We look forward to returning to visit the hotel after the work is complete

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor.

I am delighted that your stay was a success and that you particularly enjoyed the view from your room. Room 52 is one of 25 rooms that share the fantastic view of Lake Windermere and the fells beyond.

Room 52 is a lovely room and I am pleased that you enjoy it. We are fortunate to possess a number of Suites and Family Rooms if you do prefer a larger room. All of our rooms however have been finished with fabulous Laura Ashley furnishings.

Once more, I am pleased that you enjoyed breakfast. Each and every meal is important to us, here at the Belsfield and a number of guests seem to be pleased with the choice on offer. Of course, the panoramic view of the Lake from the Restaurant is finest ingredient for any meal.

Thank you once again for your review and hopefully we can welcome you back to the Belsfield in the future.

stayed here and it was amazing, beautifully done out to a high standard, and the staff are lovely and friendly, reception staff are very helpful and try to help you in any way they can and being under refurbishment have had to put up with a lot of disruption.

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor.

I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay and specifically refer to the Belsfield as an "excellent hotel."

The refurbishment is something that we are all extremely proud of and it is nice to read that you found the refurbishments to be 'beautifully done'. The bedrooms have been finished with Laura Ashley furnishings, demonstrating a number of different styles and themes, depending on which floor and room you are in. Furthermore, the downstairs of the hotel has also been given the Laura Ashley magic touch; including the Brasseire, Restaurant, Bar, Lounges and Reception.

Thank you once again for your review and hopefully we can welcome you back to the Belsfield in the future.

Despite being in the midst of a total refurbishment the stay was just what we were looking for. Relaxation and quality.
When finished the hotel will be as lovely inside as the view is from the outside across the lake.
Staff doing a valiant job in difficult times.

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor.

I am glad to read that enjoyed your long weekend in the Lakes and the refurbishment was not a hindrance. The work is now coming to a close and we are excited to show all of our guests the newly refurbished bedrooms that have been finished from top to bottom with Laura Ashley furnishings, the downstairs lounges, bar and reception which of course, have also had the Laura Ashley magic and finally the Restaurant and Brasserie, which, as you mention, share an unimpeded view of Lake Windermere and the fells beyond.

just returned from a break at the belsfield. it was surprisingly good. we had rm 30 which was a junior suite. we went with friends which made it even better. breakfasts excellent, buffet style .the only thing which was poor was the wait at dinner. we ordered meal at 7 45pm and it was 8 45pm before we had our starter. the whole experience was relaxing and we definitely had our moneys worth. we shall return. we sat on the terrace in the sun on both nights and if you closed your eyes you co.uld pretend you were on a hillside in southern italy

Room Tip: always ask for a room overlooking the lake because rooms at the back can be a bit dark

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor.

I am glad that you enjoyed room 30. We are incredibly fortunate to have 25 rooms that share the tremendous, unimpeded view of Lake Windermere and the fells beyond. We also have a range of rooms, ranging from standard rooms, to Suites and family rooms. All of which have been finished from top to bottom with Laura Ashley furnishings.

You couldn't be more accurate about the terrace. All of our guests enjoy the Belsfield terrace and many enjoy it so much that they opt to spend the afternoon on our terrace with our outstanding views, than go off and explore.

Thank you for your feedback regarding dinner service. We have set ourselves high standards at the Belsfield and it is disappointing to hear that on this occasion we have not lived up to them.

Thank you once again for your review and hopefully we can welcome you back to the Belsfield in the future.
