Had tea on the terrace with my wife. This was the grand opening so they made it special. Fantastic service, fantastic afternoon tea and spectacular views of Lake Windermere in the sun with a singer and saxophonist playing their stunning music. This was paradise. To top it all, we were given a grand tour of the hotel which was marvellous!

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor.

I am delighted that you enjoyed your afternoon tea at the new Laura Ashley Hotel, The Belsfield. Chef has put particular thought in to the afternoon tea and aims to combine traditional cakes with new, modern fun varieties. In total we offer a variety of sandwiches, savouries and also six cakes and a scone. In other words, we do recommend arriving hungry.

I hope that you enjoyed your tour. The entire hotel has received a Laura Ashley make over from top to bottom. This includes the bedrooms, lounges, Restaurant, Brasserie and bar and we believe that it is looking stunning.

Thank you once again for your review and hopefully we can welcome you back the Belsfield in the future.

Kind regards,

Joseph Cobb

We stayed here for two nights, it's a really nice hotel, recently refurbished but still retaining some nice touches from older times, e.g. The lift which is very quaint, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the views are stunning, the one negative which cost it it's fifth star is there's no air con in the rooms, also whilst luxurious the quilts are quite heavy, this means in the middle of a hot summer it can be a very warm night, but other than that really good hotel

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor.

I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the new Laura Ashley Hotel, The Belsfield and the refurbishment in particular. The refurbishment has been quite drastic, with the bedrooms having a full Laura Ashley makeover, as well as the lounges, restaurant and Brasserie. we believe that it looks magnificent and to date we have received a number of positive comments.

My apologies that the room was hot for you. It was of course one of the hottest days of the year. We have 22 rooms that have air conditioning and the remaining rooms also have fans. Our team will be most happy to recommend one of these rooms for you in the future.

Thank you once again for your review and hopefully we can welcome you back to the Belsfield in the future.

Food was fantastic, all fresh and homemade. Obviously a chef who cares as the kids meals where just as good as the adults meals. The service however wasn't amazing. Nobody checked back to see if our food was ok, when it came to paying the bill it was obvious nobody was coming. I walked through the restaurant with 4 tables of people eating to the bar as nobody had been out to us in 45 minutes and counted 6 waiting on staff. Somebody was getting good service, just not us. When I got to the bar the very friendly bar man apologised and said he was not aloud to leave the bar to tend to us outside. I understood. There was the usual managers swanning around not doing much as you tend to find in these big hotels.

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor.

Firstly I am glad that you enjoyed the food during your stay at Laura Ashley Hotel, The Belsfield. We currently offer our guests two dining experiences. The first is in the Brasserie which offers traditional English food in a relaxed environment. The second is the restaurant which is a fine dining experience, focusing on attention to detail with presentation, as well as flavour.

Regarding the service during your meal; I am sorry that nobody did a courtesy check during your meal. Of course we do set ourselves extremely high standards when it comes to service and it seems that in this instance we could have performed better and will learn from our mistakes. Regarding asking you for payment, again it seems that maybe we should have made ourselves more available. However we most certainly do not like to make our guests feel uncomfortable and that they must pay straight away, we would usually prefer you to relax and enjoy the views and pay when you are ready.

Thank you once again for your review on Tripadvisor.

I've been staying at The Belsfield with my son every year since he was 3. This time we visited as a chill-out after he'd finished his GCSE's, he now 16. It's lovely to see how the hotel has evolved over the years, but the latest update has really transformed it into something very special. The rooms have been decorated in Laura Ashley with all the co-ordinating accessories, light fittings and soft furnishings. It was also nice to see locally sourced biscuits & sweets on the tea tray. Towels are thick & soft, breakfast very high quality.
The location is the absolute best in Bowness and its wonderful to have breakfast overlooking the lake. I prefer The Belsfield to the Old England, the atmosphere is more welcoming and laid back.
The renovations were in the final stages and I love the glass atrium which is the new reception/entrance area, from which you have a clear view of the lake.
I look forward to our next visit & can't wait for the new pool & spa. The current pool is OK, maybe a little tired but I do have fond memories of taking my son swimming in it when he was 3.

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor.

I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay at the new Laura Ashley Hotel, The Belsfield and are fond of the renovation in particular. The bedrooms have been attended to with Laura Ashley fixtures and furnishings throughout. This has been replicated in the lounges, the bar, restaurant, brasserie and reception and we too are very proud of the transformation.

The location is often talked about and I am glad that you found this beneficial. With the hotel being a stones throw away from Bowness villiage, as well as the Lake itself, there is plenty for our guests to do. Even on those occasional rainy days.

Thank you once again for your review and hopefully we can welcome you back to the Belsfield in the future.

Just returned from a 2 night stay on a living social deal. we stayed B&B and were very happy with the food and service of the staff. We didn't update to a lake view but we did not spend time in the room other than sleeping and with the gardens overlooking the lakes we felt it was unnessesary on this occassion. We asked to stay another night but they quoted premier rate which considering the hotel is still under-going refurbishment we thought was too much at this time once the hotel has been completely refurbished we do not think you would find a better hotel on the lakes for position and facilities.

Room Tip: we stayed in room 51 - 2nd floor. in summer this room gets very hot

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor.

I am incredibly pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the new Laura Ashley Hotel, The Belsfield and enjoyed the views in particular. We are immensely fortunate to be raised on a bank with unimpeded views of Lake Windermere, with Belle Isle in the foreground and the Fairfield Horsehoe in the distance. This spectacular view is also shared by 25 of our bedrooms, as well as the lounges, restaurant and bar.

The food is often a talking point and once more, I am glad that this was something that you enjoyed. We are now offering two completely different dining options; we have the Brasserie menu which offers traditional English dishes in a relaxed environment and also the Belsfiield Restaurant which has a clear focus on attention to detail with both flavour and presentation.

Thank you once again for your review and hopefully we can welcome you back to the Laura Ashley Belsfield in the future.

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor.

I am delighted to read that your stay was a success and that you enjoyed the views in particular. We are extremely fortunate to have completely unimpeded views of Lake Windermere, with Belle Isle in the foreground and the Fairfield horseshoe in the distance.

The food has been well received of late and once more, I am glad that this was to your liking. We currently have two dining options for our guests; the more rustic, traditional English dishes in our informal Brasserie or the fine dining option in the Restaurant, where attention to detail and technicalities of dishes is as much of a priority as the taste of the dishes.

Thank you once again for your review and hopefully we can welcome you back to the Belsfield in the future.

Just returned from a 2 night stay on a deal which included dinner, bed and breakfast. We stayed in room 50 which had amazing views across the lake. The room was newly refurbished to a very high standard with a shower room which again had high class fixtures and fittings, although a little on the small side it did not spoil the ambiance of the room. Dinner was delightful and beautifully presented in very pleasant surroundings. The hotel is still undergoing refurbishment, which did not affect our stay and the quality of the 'Laura Ashley' furnishings and colour schemes were beautiful. The only down side was breakfast on our second day, when at 9.10a.m my husband could only get one slice of bacon, as that was all that was left, and was told it would be 20 minutes before the servers would be replenished, as breakfast is scheduled to close at 9.30a.m. I cannot quite see the point of that!!!! All in all a wonderful stay and we will return.

Room Tip: Lake view rooms are worth the upgrade

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor.

I am delighted that your stay was a success and that you found the hotel to be in a "stunning location". We are, indeed very fortunate to have such commanding, unimpeded views of Lake Windermere and the fells beyond, whilst being only a stones throw away form Bowness itself.

The refurbishment seems to have been received well so far and once more I am glad that you too approve. The bedrooms have had a Laura Ashley finishings from top too bottom, as well as the downstairts lounges, Restaurant, Brasserie, reception and bar. Further more, we are now due to become Laura Ashley Hotel, The Belsfield, Lake District.

Thank you once again for your review and hopefully we can welcome you back to the Belsfield in the future.
