I can not comment on the hotels usual rates as I booked a 3 night trip on a travel deal which turned out to be exceptional value.

The staff were all polite and extremely helpfull, nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant was extremely proffesional and every evening the food was supurb, a real treat to look forward to after a days walking. The menu changed daily and was always exciting. The food was to a very high standard, a fresh green vegatable would have been nice to see but that is just my preference. Breakfast was again very good with a wide choice well prepared. We both looked forward to every meal and would congratulate the chef and all his team,,, Thanks

The garden offers a lovely place to relax overlooking Windermere. The hotel is just outside of Bowness which is about a 15 min walk. Loads of free parking. Our room was a garden room 7 which was clean and nicely furnished and decorated. No views from this room but access direct to the garden and a bistro set suited our requirements, we would be happy to have the same room again as it was very quiet at night. One very small issue was that smokers had left fag butts all around the bistro set by room garden door, why do smokers find it acceptable to throw butts anywhere !!!

The cleaners were in daily and did a good job, they were in whilst we were at breakfast and I would have prefered them to be in when we handed the key in to go out for the day. (Not a complaint just a preference)

We both had a fantastic time at the Fayrer and I would highly recommend a stay ,especially if you can find a deal. The issues I had are minor, so should not put you off. We visit a lot of hotels on travel deals and this has to be one of the best, If I find the same deal I will be back.

Many thanks to all the staff

Chris, Sadie

We have just returned from a 3 day Easter break at this wonderful hotel. From start to finish we were treated in such a fantastic way. Nothing was too much trouble - all the staff from housekeeping to management were there to make sure you had an enjoyable stay. The food was exceptional - it would not be out of place in a top London restaurant. The hotel is situated in wonderful, relaxing grounds which are beautiful. We will certainly be returning to this hidden gem.

The fact that our newspaper was on a seat at breakfast, that we were greeted as "mr Oliver " "Madam " when ordering dinner ,the beautifully furnished room ,the excellent and varied food ,a view to die for over Lake Windermere yes it really is the little things that matter and make Fayrer Gardens special .

From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome and can't do enough for you. The rooms are lovely, the dinning room has wonderful views of Windermere. The lounge is nice and relaxing.
We were blown away with the food. The menu was good with plenty of choice and the food was delicious!!! Overall a fabulous experience.
My husband and I are already planning our next trip back.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. Our room was allocated in an annexe part of the hotel,in a room in the roof space called 'Fushia'.The room was clean and spacious although you had to duck your head in certain parts of the room! The bathroom unfortunately smelt of cigarettes, proberbly as it had a roof window at low level it would be easy to stick your head out of the window and have a smoke, but the bathroom constantly smelt of cigarettes! The meals were superb, and just enough to eat.Little touches like serving canapes and dips in the lounge before dinner and coffee and chocolates served after your meal in the lounge made it extra special.A pianist played whilst you had your eveing meal and was lovely to sit and listen to whilst dining. The dining staff were absolutely fantastic, very chatty and polite and smartly dressed. They were at your beck and call and nothing was too much trouble.Overall a very lovely stay and a short drive into Windermere itself.Just an added bonus was the use of the Old England MacDonald Hotel Spa facilities in Windermere. We enjoyed an afternoon swimming etc.

Our 3-night stay at Feyrer Garden House Hotel was a Christmas present from our children - and worth every penny we guess they paid...The location, the attentive, friendly staff, the food and our room were all excellent. The Terrace dining room looks across a field and rooftops to Lake Windermere and the mountains. What could be better. The warm, old-wood clad entrance hall is so welcoming, and the rich decor in the spacious lounge, the bar and dining room continued the atmosphere. Our room was in a more modern section of the hotel, which does not have the charm of the old part, though is decorated to a high standard. Our room was fine, looking partly onto gardens. The bed was comfortable, the refreshment tray was kept full, TV, radio all worked. Well worth a visit.
Would we change anything? Yes. The typeface used on the hotel's signage, letterheads etc. It isn't reader-friendly!
