We stayed for one night for my birthday. Service was excellent, locality & facilities were very good. Gardens are beautiful. Would hope to stay here again.

Beautiful surroundings, a warm welcome and a lovely comfortable room made us instantly relaxed here. We'll definitely be back.

Room Tip: We had a superior room with a beautiful view.

This is a well-run establishment, in a charming building, with a large and attractive garden going down to the lake. Our large ground floor room had disabled access, but beware the bathroom floor, which was slippery when wet. The welcome was good, and help was available when needed. The furnishing was fresh English country hotel style.
We were in a party of 20 people, and had areas to ourselves for drinks before and after dinner and a separate part of the restaurant. The food was good, and the portions reasonably sized, though there was some repetition between courses: one night, one of our number had a sorbet with his starter, a second as a palate refresher and the third with his dessert. The same wild mushroom pate turned up with both a starter and a main dish, and then as a canapé the next night. It was a pity that although our orders were taken at the table, the staff had no idea of who was having which dish.
There is also an afternoon tea which left a 12 year old grandson very happy.

A lovely hotel in a superb location with beautiful views over the lake from the restaurant and gardens. Our accommodation was in the annexe as we took our dog and it suited us perfectly. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was good. Got an excellent three night half board deal and we were blessed with fabulous weather. Hope to visit again.

We spent 3 nights at The Fayrer in May.We had read the reviews posted before booking the hotel and so our expectations were very high.We were not disappointed. The hotel is beautiful,.the views are to die for and the staff are wonderful and trained to an exceptionally high standard.Nothing was too much trouble for them and their attention to detail is excellent. The Lake view room we had was spotlessly clean and the bed was huge. The bathroom with a walk-in shower was beautiful.
I have eaten in some wonderful restaurants over the years but the dining experience here beats everything else. The quality, presentation and taste of every single dish we had was first class.
I could wax lyrical about the Fayrer Garden House Hotel all day long but you really need to go and stay there yourself to appreciate just how special this place is.I can say without reservation that this is the best hotel we have ever stayed in.What a delight. We will return as soon as is possible.
Many thanks to all the staff. You do a first class job.We have stayed in 5* hotels in London and their staff could learn a lot from you.

I can not comment on the hotels usual rates as I booked a 3 night trip on a travel deal which turned out to be exceptional value.

The staff were all polite and extremely helpfull, nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant was extremely proffesional and every evening the food was supurb, a real treat to look forward to after a days walking. The menu changed daily and was always exciting. The food was to a very high standard, a fresh green vegatable would have been nice to see but that is just my preference. Breakfast was again very good with a wide choice well prepared. We both looked forward to every meal and would congratulate the chef and all his team,,, Thanks

The garden offers a lovely place to relax overlooking Windermere. The hotel is just outside of Bowness which is about a 15 min walk. Loads of free parking. Our room was a garden room 7 which was clean and nicely furnished and decorated. No views from this room but access direct to the garden and a bistro set suited our requirements, we would be happy to have the same room again as it was very quiet at night. One very small issue was that smokers had left fag butts all around the bistro set by room garden door, why do smokers find it acceptable to throw butts anywhere !!!

The cleaners were in daily and did a good job, they were in whilst we were at breakfast and I would have prefered them to be in when we handed the key in to go out for the day. (Not a complaint just a preference)

We both had a fantastic time at the Fayrer and I would highly recommend a stay ,especially if you can find a deal. The issues I had are minor, so should not put you off. We visit a lot of hotels on travel deals and this has to be one of the best, If I find the same deal I will be back.

Many thanks to all the staff

Chris, Sadie

We have just returned from a 3 day Easter break at this wonderful hotel. From start to finish we were treated in such a fantastic way. Nothing was too much trouble - all the staff from housekeeping to management were there to make sure you had an enjoyable stay. The food was exceptional - it would not be out of place in a top London restaurant. The hotel is situated in wonderful, relaxing grounds which are beautiful. We will certainly be returning to this hidden gem.
