My husband and I stayed at the Fayrer Garden for our 1st wedding anniversary. MY first experience with the hotel was booking the stay. I came across an offer on groupon but the dates when we wanted to stay fell 1 day outside the offer dates. However, the management kindly still agreed to honour the offer for which I am so grateful.

We upgraded and stayed in a four-poster bed room. When we arrived we were greeted at the door and showed to our room which was beautiful. I was so excited. On the morning of our anniversary we woke up early and wanted to have a bubble bath before breakfast only to find that there was no hot water. The manager went out of her way to help us. Although the problem could not be fixed which was somewhat inconvenient, the manager really did go out of her way to make up for it.

We would definitely go back and stay there again. Plus the place is dog friendly so next time we will take our girls along too!

And by the way, the food in the restaurant is to die for!

Stayed here in March as part of the KGB deals offer but upgraded the room to a superior room which was on the top floor and had a beautiful view of the lake. The hotel is beautiful and the service fabulous. The food in the restaurant is well recommended and I will definitely visit again.

Booked in for a two night stay to celebrate our marriage! The location is good if you like views and gardens, not so good if you like to be in the thick of it! We cabbed it to and from the village each night and cost around £4. The room was lovely, huge bed, our room was on the ground floor and was a bit noisy! The staff were lovely, especially Martin the night porter/barman! Breakfast was ok, not as good as some places! We didn't eat dinner there but believe the food is good and the evening menu looked nice!
We would stay again!

Having visited The Lakes only once before, I was keen to come back with my husband and show him this beautiful place.
The hotel management couldn't do enough for us. The room was luxurious and the food to die for.
I would absolutely recommend a stay here to anyone.

At the suggestion of friends, we stayed in the Fayrer Hotel with them for a couple of nights in February. Beautifully situated, with attractive gardens and a view over to the lake, this hotel was really well presented. Staff were very polite and helpful. Our room overlloked the garden to the rear. It was extremely clean and the bathroom, although small was well appointed with a corner bath. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. Our main reason for staying here was the package which included a 5 course meal every night. Each course well beautifully cooked and presented and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The lounge where we retired for coffee post dinner, was very comfortable with squashy sofas to sink into.

Only negative - there is no lift to the first floor. There is a room on the ground floor which is suitable for disabled access. There were spa facilities available at a nearby hotel.

Room Tip: If unable to tackle stairs ask for the ground floor room as there is no lift.

We stayed as 2 couples and conveniently had rooms 1 & 2, right next to each other. They had great modern decor and the shower room was luxurious and spotless with great toiletries. The lake view rooms are definitely worth paying extra for, our doors led out on to the terrace where we were kindly served afternoon tea in the sun.

We had no complaints about the location as I'd read about it on here prior to our stay. We walked to Bowness once (turn left out of the hotel and left down next road to walk along the lake side road, rather than straight along the hilly one with no path). We used taxis the rest of the time as they're only £4/5.

Just a few little moans - towel radiator is on constantly and makes the bathroom and bedroom too hot. The windows could do with a good clean to enhance such special views, and a 'net' curtain/voile would be a good addition so the view could be admired from bed without feeling exposed to guests wandering passed. A later check-out, particularly on a Sunday, would be nice and may stop everyone piling out at 10.30!

I wasn't expecting anything amazing with it being a bargain weekend away through KGB deals, but it was brilliant value! Lovely and well organised service throughout. Lots of choice at breakfast and good selection of drinks/biscuits in room. Would definitely stay again if I found another offer, it far exceeded my expectations.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 and 2 have great lake views and doors out to the terrace
