Found this hotel on booking.com for much cheaper, also able to take our dog. Didnt stay in the main hotel, but a cottage on the grounds, which was still nice. Was lucky enough to book straight in and unpack. Given plenty of advice from the gardener about the best places to cycle, walk and drive. Found him very helpful indeed. Can not thank him enough for making our short stay so enjoyable. So if your looking for off the beaten track ideas ask for the Gardener. We also enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal in the restaurant with fantastic service. Drinks are a little pricey but the food is exquisite. We also enjoyed cooked breakfast which was cooked and served to the same standard. We visited the Ingleton Water Falls Trail, a 4 hr walk through wooded uneven paths, along a river with several amazing waterfalls and plenty of photo ops.
If you want any further informaion dont hesitate to contact me.
Hope this has been useful x

Room Tip: You dont need to spend loads on the view, just grab a glass of vina and enjoy on the patio.

Very very nice hotel and restaurant. Service food and location top class.

We had a main each and a dessert each. My own fault not to check the prices before going otherwise I would've had a starter and coffee as it was in with the price of £37.50 pp. Drinks were a bit overpiced - Loweswater gold (bottle) was over £4.00 each and a large house chardonnay with £5.00. Even with using the tastecard it was nearly £60.00 which would've been about right if we had had all the courses, although there were canapes and a small soup which were brought to us too.

However it is good for a treat as it was fantastic.

Stayed one night on dinner b&b rate of £140 for 2 of us. Best value for money we've ever had in Bowness. Much better than Miller Howe for example. Service superb, dinner divine, breakfast bonza! We paid basic room rate and not extra for lake view etc. Room excellent; large, airy, well appointed - unless one is going to spend much time in the room what's the point of paying extra for a view you get for free from lounge, terrace or dining room?

Room Tip: Don't pay extra for lake view - it's for free downstairs.

Stayed at the Fayrer Garden Hotel with friends last weekend on a 2 night break.Found the hotel to be quiet and relaxing .We had a room with a lakeview which was well worth the extra. It was tastefully decorated and the jacuzzi bath was delightful. The staff were very obliging and helpful. The breakfast was superb with choices to suit everyone. We all had the full english breakfast each morning and were able to relax and take our time.Extra toast etc was provided if required without ever having to ask.Would have liked a better choice for the evening meal but that is down to personal preference and in no way a criticism.Hope to spend another weekend there soon!

Room Tip: choose a lake view room on top floor
