“Quite Superb”
Reviewed 22 October 2013

The dining room, lounge and bar are sumptuously furnished with superb views, and the food is quite exceptional. My compliments to the Chef(s)! The extensive grounds and garden is impressive.
The minor fly in the otherwise excellent hotel is the less than modern bathroom/toilet: scrupulously clean with nice toiletries, but the washbasin had separate hot and cold taps rather than a mixer tap and the lighting for shaving was challenging!
I would strongly recommend the hotel for the dining alone, and for the whole experience.

Third visit to Fayre Garden hotel with Travel View offer. Very relaxing and comfortable stay. Staff extremely polite and helpful. Food excellent quality but disappointing that the menu is the same each evening and only changes after a few days. Stayed in hotel and cottage in the garden, both well appointed and quiet. Position great for exploring lakes. Gardens beautiful.
We will certainly return when another offer is available.

Had a wonderful weekend break [ 19th 20th Oct13 ] with my bride of 52yrs her sister and hubby.
The location, staff, hotel, and food are excellent. We stayed in the cottage very quiet and select.
If you are looking for steak and chips this hotel is'nt for you, but if you require fine dining then
book your break.
We paid £230 for 2nites 2 people dbb, the food was excellent and varied. My beef meal Sunday
night was the best i have eaten,so tender it was like chewing marshmellow.
Would definatly return to this hotel.

We just spent one night here in a garden view room. We had an excellent time, enjoying cream scones and bubbly on arrival. Our room was spacious with homemade biscuits and tea/coffee facilities in the room. Quality bath products in each room. Staff were friendly & service good. The lounges were pleasant and nothing looked shabby. We visited as part of a Travelzoo offer which represented excellent value for money. Food excellent. I will definitely make a return visit. Many thanks to all of the staff who made our visit so memorable.

Room Tip: I can recommend the garden view rooms

First congratulations to whoever selects and trains the staff, they set the ambience and welcoming feel of this delightful small hotel. Our room was well appointed with a lovely view of the garden. The lounge and dining room were a pleasure to use. The meals were excellent and well served. Talk about value for money, this place provides it.
The walk Into Bowness takes about 25 minutes at pensioniata pace. The return up Kendal Road is a more gentle gradient than starting off along the shore. The hotel gardens frame lovely views of lake and hills.
Altogether completely excellent stay.
Only one extra we would have liked, the morning paper outside the room rather than downstairs, we are lazy!

A brief 'bubble' out of reality to this wonderful hotel.
Booked through Travelzoo and had a great time.
Went with a friend to celebrate her 60th birthday. Beautiful place, with excellent food and ambiance.
I wish we had stayed longer.
Highly recommend this hotel and restaurant.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a 'lake view' room if possible.
