I booked this hotel to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday and was certainly not dissapointed. The hotel sits in beautiful grounds overlooking lake windermere . The room was nicely furnished and clean.Meals in the restaurant were superb and the service was excellent. The staff were all attentive and pleasant. On speaking to other guests we found that most of them were regular guests and we will definitely return. The highlight of our stay was sitting on the terrace overlooking the lake enjoying canapes and pre dinner drinks.

One night stay in a superior room (12). Very comfortable, lovely views. Good location walked down to Hawkshead ferry (50p) each, visited Hill Top. Dinner was very good although our breakfast order got mislaid, waiting a long time and had to ask where it was! Staff very friendly.
Still as good as Fayrer Garden and would go again!

Room Tip: Lake view rooms worth the extra.

I had a very pleasant stay at the Ryebeck. I was a solo traveller. In spite of the number of hotels in the area, most do not have single rooms. The Ryebeck does (two of them I believe). Mine was very comfortable. A nice touch was the provision of a jar of cookies and DIY fresh coffee in the hospitality tray. Breakfasts were good and evening meals superb, staff friendly and helpful. I came without a car - the cab from Windermere station cost £9.00. There is a twenty minute or so walk into Bowness, part of it down a steep road with no pavement, though I never encountered any traffic. Should you not fancy the walk back uphill, cabs are usually waiting in the rank in the bay at Bowness. I shall certainly stay again.

Returned yesterday after a 2 day break, and second visit to this hotel. Overall an enjoyable stay. Food very good, staff friendly and hard working. Wonderful garden views to lake.
Things which need to improve.
Although our room was comfortable(No 19,)carpet needed a good clean.
Poor organisation in restaurant resulted in no orange juice for breakfast on both days......surely that's just basic. Also ran out of glasses and bowls, guests having to ask for both.
Despite dinner being booked for a certain time, kept waiting at least 45 mins before being shown to table, and then had to wait again for starters to appear.
Interesting that when we checked out ,the manager Nichola, didn't even ask if we had enjoyed our stay. When I pointed out the above shortcomings, she really didn't take it on board, or make any goodwill gesture. Not very professional.
Many of these things are fairly basic and minor, but certainly colour the overall experience.

We booked this as deal on KGB and was excellent value for money.
The hotel is set in fantastic grounds and a fab view. We paid £20 to upgrade from standard room to a deluxe room on arrival and so glad we did. The room was lovely with a balcony that overlooked the gardens and lake. It was a glorious view even on a dull and drizzling morning.
We had cream tea and prosecco included in the price, as well as evening meal and breakfast the next morning.
Bowness on Windermere is about a 20 minute walk from hotel. We spent the day sightseeing and sampling the local beer before heading back to hotel for our afternoon tea. We indulged in our cream tea which was lovely with a nicely chilled glass of prosseco sitting in the lounge looking out over the gardens.
Our evening meal was fantastic. Our order was taken whilst enjoying a drink in the bar before being escorted to our table for the night. We finished off with coffee back in the lounge to end our very relaxing day and night.
Breakfast was again very tasty with the usual fair to help yourself to before our choice of cooked breakfast was brought to us freshly cooked.
Both me and my husband has a fab stay and wished we had booked more than just one night. My husband finds it hard to relax and distress and even he commented on how relaxed he was there! Everything about our stay was fantastic.....staff, room and food. We cannot wait to return, hopefully to celebrate our anniversary in August :-)

The hotel has lovely gardens, the food was very good and the hotel staff very pleasant. We had a garden room which was very spacious, the shower over the bath was a little tricky, not easy to set at a good angle in the holder. The only other negative was that because the weather was hot we had the Juliet balcony doors open and the man in the room below was smoking outside his room, the smoke wafted up into our room and we had to close the doors, rather annoying. The hotel restaurant and lounges are very nice, well decorated and furnished. A very pleasant stay, definitely would recommend this hotel and hope to return.

Service and food was excellent. Spoilt for choice on the set dinner menu and all we finally chose was tasty and beautifully presented. The lounge and bar areas were extremely comfortable and attractively decorated and the dining room was bright and welcoming. This hotel has large, well kept, beautiful gardens, it was lovely to have a drink in the late afternoon sat on the terrace overlooking the gardens.

We chose a standard room, it was small but perfectly adequate, tastefully redecorated, overlooking the front garden with a comfortable bed and a compact but pleasant shower room.

We had booked at an offer price and it was great value for money.
