I visited last week with 5 friends and we had a fantastic weekend; The staff, food, wine and afternoon tea were all great. Everyone is so friendly and helpful which made it all the more relaxing. It was lovely to see young peple ther having a good time and hen parties enjoyikgn the fabulous afternoon tea.The only apology is toanyone staying as the party I was with were a little noisy playing cards and games after dinner but even that the owners accomodated! The home made yoghurt and cakes were fab. We will be back. Thankyou Lynne

for the price of bed and breakfast me and my husband expected alot more for our money although staff friendly and hotel clean it seemed more like a b&b than a hotel the superior room is smaller than it appears on the pictures. When we arrived back after an evening out there was no one around at 11pm to ask for a coffee or beer! I feel this hotel is for the elderly .

Hmm, this did feel to me (at the age of 41) like I’d stumbled into an old folks home. I guess the hotels around Bowness do tend to cater more to the older generation (I don’t normally stay around here but it was convenient for the car hire), but I’d say the average age must have been 60s at least. That said, the welcome was warm (did I detect a bit of surprise at our relatively tender age?) and the hotel was beautifully furnished.

I was a bit disappointed that there was no bar to sit in – we got there late and fancied sitting down somewhere with some wine. They did have a range of drinks but we didn’t really want to sit in the public areas so we took them to our room.

The view in the morning was absolutely superb – there was Windermere in all its glory. The gardens were really picturesque, with a splash of red and a host of golden daffodils (to get all Wordsworth). I was excited to discover they had a nearly full-sized croquet lawn. As an aficionado it was a shame to see one of the balls (red if you’re interested) was missing but we had a fun game.

Dear tonysony,
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us.
I am so sorry about the croquet set being a ball short, it will be replaced ASAP.
We do have a fully stocked dispense bar and serve any drinks to you in lounges, I am sorry you did not enjoy our cosy lounges as you would a public bar.
We are delighted that you liked the refurbishment that has taken place and we are very lucky to have a fantastic gardener who cares for our beautiful grounds.
With kind regards,
Caroline

Stayed for 2 nights DB&B in a classic king room with a lovely large bathroom, which was immaculate.
Hotel is very eclectic in it's style and the food was fantastic. We are experienced travellers and we can honestly say that this was the best food we have experienced in a hotel to-date. The family and staff were very hospitable and made every effort to be warm and welcoming. It felt like home. Highly recommended, albeit not cheap. You know the old saying, you get what you pay for!!! Do not think of staying anywhere else in Bowness-on-Windermere.

Dear MGinLancs,
I am pleased to work in the most beautiful country house in the Lake District.
Thankfully the hotel has kept its character over the years and although we have everything you should possibly need, the house still remains charming.
Our wish is that you make yourself at home and have a relaxing stay.
Head chef Julian and his team are delighted you enjoyed the food.
We look forward to welcoming you back to Lindeth Fell.

Whilst booking the room over the phone, we received very good service, with the manager taking the time to talk us through the different types of rooms to find what would suit us best.
Arriving at the Lindeth Fell we were made to feel most welcome. Not only is the hotel in a magnificent situation, with very nice views and lovely gardens, but the property itself has been immaculately kept and has not been over modernised like so many.
The room was comfortable and very nicely decorated, and we appreciated the little touches such as providing a jug of iced water every day. The breakfast is made to order and cannot be faulted. Once again the waitresses could not be more helpful.
Overall this family fun establishment has the best customer service I have ever encountered and I can't think of anything that could be changed.
