“Lovely stay at hotel”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

Booked deal with travel zoo. Fabulous fabulous meal. Worth the money alone. Lovely room with lake view would definitely recommend. Wifi in hotel but not a great signal at all in rooms. Great afternoon tea and breakfast

Room Tip: Lake view lovely rooms.

We have had a perfect stay in this beautifully appointed hotel. The staff were all very we'll trained so the service was excellent, we booked this through Travelzoo and so we did mot pay the full price which is even better. We were given the Potter suite (named after Mrs Potter) which had a beautiful view of the lLake and all mod cons including fluffy thick towels and White Company shower gel etc, the dinner was delicious and deserving of the 2** Rosette. I don't normally write reviews but felt that this hotel deserved one!,

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view

I have just been reading some of these reviews - and am unable to understand the comments about lack of cleanliness from one of the reviewers. We have been going to Lindeth Howe on and off for over 25 years and had never had any of these problems. We recently had a two day anniversary break (last week in fact) and as usual were not disappointed at Lindeth Howe. Though our bedroom was fairly small it had a lovely lake view and the meals were excellent - the only complaint there is that it might be better if the Mains of the menu was changed more often. That said everything was perfectly cooked, the staff were attentive without being obtrusive and we had a gorgeous stay. As for the walk into Bowness from Lindeth Howe this is not that far really and the traffic is not too bad. It is a lovely walk to go and get the ferry to walk the other side of the lake as well.

Room Tip: Worth paying for a room with a Lake view - never had any trouble with noise here - it is very quiet...

This is a beautifully appointed hotel, it felt "right" from the moment we walked in. Check in was very efficient and we were escorted to our room personally, (nice touch) We were in a superior room which had a nice view out to Windermere Lake in the distance (although when the trees have all their leaves you would struggle to see it at all) and of the grounds. One small criticism is the modern white bath tub by a small pond used as a planter, not good! The bed was massive and comfortable, the bathroom spacious and the shower above the bath was good and powerful. There were two comfy chairs to sit in by the window, a television that we didn't use and wifi was okay and free. We had a small afternoon tea in one of the lovely sitting rooms, I say small, but there was really plenty on offer, thank you. Then we went and had a swim and a sauna. The pool is not a big one but okay, the sauna is great. The dinner was excellent a lot of choice on the menu and all the dishes were beautifully presented on the plate. The service was very good. Breakfast was very good we had the Full English and there was plenty.
All the staff that we met and came into contact with were very friendly and professional. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to all our friends and family.

We stayed here last week, just before Easter 2014 for one night. We had three rooms for six of us, at great prices, and each was beautifully clean, large and luxurious. In fact a family room would still have been spacious. Arriving 2 hours before check-in we were welcomed warmly by reception staff and sat in front of an open fire, looking out into the gardens waiting for the rest of our party. They then informed us that they had got our rooms ready early which was a bonus. The place is oozing with character and original features. We used the pool and sauna twice having it to ourselves for most of the time. The pool and gym room are small and the changing facilities basic but spotless. (However, my morning swim would have been more relaxing without a cleaner washing the floors around us and the hairdryer was dreadful, take your own!). The turndown service, with a chocolate on the pillow was a nice touch and overall we would recommend it highly.

Room Tip: Rooms one and two were ground floor next to the spa. View was of the back car park and we did hear s...

I have in the past stayed at lindeth Howe on many many occasions and had never been disappointed. I recommended lindeth Howe to my friends and we booked afternoon tea on Sunday 6th April as a treat. I had checked out the menu on the website before going and this also provided the cost.
Upon arrival we were asked to take a seat in the lounge which was lovely. No menus were provided, we were simply asked what we wanted! No choice of tea - just tea or coffee. The website menu boasts all different types of tea. The choux pastries were stale and the cake/ muffin thing was uncooked - ugh. And then the bill arrived and the cost was in excess of what we had anticipated and no before you ask, this did not include a gratuity.
Disappointed and felt ripped off.......I won't be going back......

We have literally just got home from the lindeth howe and i am running out of superlatives for this place. We did the travelzoo deal and everything was excellent. Staff were friendly and attentive. The food was phenomenal. Afternoon tea although small ( wish we had upgraded to the larger option) was perfect after the journey there. We would highly recommend this to anyone and have every intention of returning again in the future

Room Tip: Go for a lake/garden view
