We travelled to this hotel for a 2night stay using a travelzoo voucher. We had never used a voucher like this before but got our dates we wanted. We arrived and there is a long driveway up to the hotel ,good first impression, we had afternoon tea for two upon arrival all included in the offer which was lovely and also a 4 course meal. The room was lovely, big and bed was really Comfortable, the food is divine, and the waiting on staff so nice and can't do enough for you. It is fine dining at its best, with excellent service, nothing was too much trouble. Loved our stay and would certainly go back. Location is just outside Bowness, a mile or so outside? One day we walked to and from Bowness 3 times, that would be my only gripe is the location ,but it was good exercise and I still would book again. It has a gym and pool but we did not use these facilities. Great little gem of a hotel. Highly recommend.

We have just returned from a weekend away at Lindeth Howe. We stayed for 2 nights in one of the Suites. We received a very warm welcome and shown to our room which we were very pleased with, couple of oddities, lovely crystal glasses, ice bucket and water jug but no drinks in the mini bar! Very large bathroom, shame about the cooking smells from the kitchen below not what you want went you are relaxing in the bath.
The food in the restaurant was great, very well presented and good choice. The wine list is limited but well priced. There didn't appear to be any management cover overseeing what was going on resulting in some staff not really knowing what they were doing! The let down for us was when we came to pay the bill the were items that had been charged that should have been included in the rate,it was only when we got home that we noticed that we had been charge £ 13 for 2 teas and 2 scones when afternoon tea should have been included! It just leaves a bitter taste in the mouth after what had been an other wise enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: The suite was excellent...

Hello Paul W
Thanks for your review of Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel
I have passed on your comments to Sunil our Restaurant Manager and also Warren our Assistant Restaurant Manager with regard to the scones and tea being incorrectly charged to your account and i have asked them retrain all of the Restaurant Team so this will not happen again in the future.
We do hope that this one mishap will not deter you from returning to Lindeth Howe again in the future.
Best Wishes

My partner and I stayed here for one night after Easter, we took advantage of a deal which included afternoon tea, five course dinner and bed/breakfast , this made the stay great value for money. We payed an extra £20 for a delux room, I think it was a larger room, which was great and it had a fab view of gardens and lake, if I stayed again I would pay extra for the view. The 'country house feel' was very comfy, this included the dining room, fine dining but not pretentious, you could really enjoy the wonderful food without it being too formal. Too many good things to say so give it a try, lake view room and have dinner at least one night :)

Nice stay and a lovely location, rooms could do with a little updating with some wallpaper peeling, the staff are all wonderful, only one criticism, the restaurant is a wonderful place to sit and eat, the evening meal is a delight to the eyes and the chef is obviously a very talented chef however the taste of some dishes were not at the same standard as the presentation, lacking in flavour and seasoning, I really hope if the chef reads this he takes to tasting his food as I am sure he is missing something. The price band of the food is not low and and I just hope the flavour thing gets put right. Once again don't let this put you off it is a great place to stay
