Have just got home from an overnight break at Lindeth Howe. What a lovely hotel. Set in beautiful gardens with lovely trees through which you get glimpse of Lake Windermere. Very peaceful and serene. The reception staff were excellent and the waiting on staff good.

The room had a view over the lake, was beautifully decorated, very clean and extremely comfortable. We shared an afternoon tea out on the lawn which was lovely and then we headed for the indoor pool. Lucky for us we had the place to ourselves and we enjoyed an hour bobbing about in the water and admiring the fantastic mural painted around the 4 walls.

The dinning room is large and again very tastefully decorated. We decided on the taster menu which was about 6-7 courses and was delicious. The soft boiled crispy egg was a masterpiece! Followed by king scallops, fillet of beef, a morsel of cheese and an assiette of desserts and concluded with coffee and petit fours. The wine list was good with some interesting wines that we enjoyed sampling!

Breakfast was excellent - one of the best cooked kippers I have ever had (they are so often ruined by over cooking!).

All in all a great place to have a quiet and relaxing break.

We have just arrived back from 3 nights at Lindeth Howe after our wedding on Saturday. As soon as we arrived we made to feel very special by all the staff. Our room was upgraded to a beautiful double at the top of the house with the most amazing views of the lake.
Throughout our stay the staff were attentive and looked after our every need.

Lindeth Howe is a magical place to stay and we will certainly be going back the first chance we get.

Thanks to all the staff you made our mini honeymoon perfect.

This is our second visit to this hotel. We had a two night break which included dinner and breakfast which was excellent value. The hotel is a good example of what you would expect from a country house hotel. The rooms are nice and public areas well furnished and very welcoming. It was possible to see Lake Windermere from our bedroom on this visit, but had a garden view previously. Staff are friendly and helpful. The weather was not so good during our stay so it was a bonus to see log fires alight in the lounge/ bar even though it was early June but cool in the evenings. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent with a good choice. The hotel setting is lovely and the gardens are beautifully kept.

Room Tip: Contact the hotel to ask about the location of rooms before making your booking. There is no lift, however ground floor rooms are available.

We have just returned from a family weekend away to celebrate our parents Golden Wedding anniversary at Lindeth Howe and we could not be happier. Our party of 12 contained 2 young children and as such we were provided with a private dining room given that children under 7 are not allowed in the the main dining room of an evening. There is also a dress code for dinner, and this gives you an idea of the traditional nature of the hotel, however by having a private room this provided us with the opportunity to make as much noise as our family have a habit of doing without disrupting the other guests. The staff were attentive, courteous and catered for all our needs, and the food was excellent. We made use of the swimming pool which was great, if slightly dated. The house itself is wonderful with fantastic lounges, open fires and lovely gardens. The room was enormous and the bed likewise. All in all Lindeth Howe provided us with the opportunity to make great family memories, Many thanks.

Room Tip: Those looking over the gardens rather than the car park.

Lovely hotel. Stayed in the Potter Room, glorious views of beautiful gardens and Lake Windermere in the distance. Very comfortable room and spotlessly clean. Little welcomed extras - fridge and ice box filled up each evening. Restaurant superb, lovely food (I'm vegetarian) evening meal a must and breakfasts - well, spoilt for choice.
