My sister took me here as a birthday treat. We had the garden view deluxe room and that it was.. the views were pretty lush. Rooms very clean and a great bed! The restaurant is great the food is amazing.. never had a 6 course meal before! Location is great and not to far from national trust attractions. The staff were very sweet and work very hard. Overall this is in my top rated places to stay! :)

Stayed at the Lindeth Howe on two occasions now, the last being on 7th /8th July - and it certainly wont be the last.
It is relaxing and very 'homely', convenient for all amenities yet far enough out to be quiet with lovely views of Windermere (depending on room).
Rooms spotless and very helpful staff.
I note the comments below, but I cannot agree about the food being not so good; ours was perfect and would highly recommend.
All in all a very peaceful and lovely couple of days away, which we hope to repeat in the near future.

Room Tip: Stunning views from 2nd floor

With tables spaced out across the lawn it was lovely to sit and enjoy the pleasant Lake District atmosphere. Tea, cakes, scones and minute sandwiches gave an air of elegance to our afternoon tea experience. Brilliant sunshine provided the icing on the cake. With a bottle of prosecco to finish with, a delightful experience.

Stayed recently at this hotel. We found the room clean, comfortable and lovely view over the garden. Food was varied and we sampled the Fine Dining. However, I agree with the comment below that the service was totally disorganised. The right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing. They need to get organised and if someone has already served you then it is ticked off in the kitchen or something needs to happen because we were asked 3 times by different people about the same thing. Breakfast was excellent and can recommend the kippers. However, there was very little conversation from the staff and a little bit more effort to try and communicate with the guests wouldn't go amiss. As part of any holiday is conversation and meeting interesting people. The entrance to Reception is well hidden from view and needs to be brought forward or moved to where you can see the staff. If you don't look around the corner as you go into the hallway you miss the staff on Reception. No one came to say Cheerio and again we had to say we were 'off now'. So a little more attention there would be most appreciated and would help to improve the service that people expect on a holiday. Otherwise a very pleasant stay. We did mention it was our Wedding Anniversary but there were no extras or cake offered or anything. Another couple found the same who were also celebrating their anniversary. So a little more effort here wouldn't go amiss either. People like attention. Hotel is about 1 mile away from Bowness. So close enough to walk or take the car and park. Parking is usually free near the marine area. Hotel is not trendy but it is cosy and plenty of comfortable chairs in lounge. When weather is hot it would be good to have covers provided on the chairs in the garden as they are rather hard to sit on.

Room Tip: Most rooms are adequately done out. However, we had a Deluxe room and was surprised it had no walk i...

We stayed at the Lindeth Howe for two nights on 30th June and 1st July, this being our fifth or sixth stay.
The hotel is very pleasant indeed, and well situated on the outskirts of Bowness to benefit from both seclusion and convenience.
The room we had (the Potter Room) was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable.
Unfortunately, we found that the quality of the two dinners we had has gone down drastically from previous years. We have always been more than happy with the meals on previous visits, but this time, the food was of poor quality and lacking in flavour, and the service was totally disorganised. Were we just unlucky on the two nights we were there? - I don't know, but it will make us think twice about returning.
Very sad, because we really do like the hotel for convenience, room quality, and ambience - but what went wrong with the catering this time??

Room Tip: The Potter Room - well worth the extra.

Have just got home from an overnight break at Lindeth Howe. What a lovely hotel. Set in beautiful gardens with lovely trees through which you get glimpse of Lake Windermere. Very peaceful and serene. The reception staff were excellent and the waiting on staff good.

The room had a view over the lake, was beautifully decorated, very clean and extremely comfortable. We shared an afternoon tea out on the lawn which was lovely and then we headed for the indoor pool. Lucky for us we had the place to ourselves and we enjoyed an hour bobbing about in the water and admiring the fantastic mural painted around the 4 walls.

The dinning room is large and again very tastefully decorated. We decided on the taster menu which was about 6-7 courses and was delicious. The soft boiled crispy egg was a masterpiece! Followed by king scallops, fillet of beef, a morsel of cheese and an assiette of desserts and concluded with coffee and petit fours. The wine list was good with some interesting wines that we enjoyed sampling!

Breakfast was excellent - one of the best cooked kippers I have ever had (they are so often ruined by over cooking!).

All in all a great place to have a quiet and relaxing break.

We have just arrived back from 3 nights at Lindeth Howe after our wedding on Saturday. As soon as we arrived we made to feel very special by all the staff. Our room was upgraded to a beautiful double at the top of the house with the most amazing views of the lake.
Throughout our stay the staff were attentive and looked after our every need.

Lindeth Howe is a magical place to stay and we will certainly be going back the first chance we get.

Thanks to all the staff you made our mini honeymoon perfect.
