Family run hotel. Very personable, friendly and unique. The rooms are fantastic and the private hot tubs are an added bonus - a perfect way to end a tough day out walking in the hills. In our cabin we felt completely secluded and hidden away - just what we wanted for a romantic weekend get away. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Love Shack Cabin - private outdoor hot tub, log fire, amazing bathroom with indoor jacuzzi bath with...

Just returned from a 2night stay and couldn't of wished for more from the warm welcome on arrival to the amazing rooms, we stayed the first night in the love hide which was perfect with the separate bathroom across the stairs, we moved to the bella room the next night with the indoor hot tub, perfect after a day of walking just with the love hide being booked the hotel made this so easy transferred our luggage straight away and no hassle to us at all. Breakfast was superb with tea/coffee restocked when needed fresh fruit and cereal then the lovely full English. Really enjoyed our stay it was made so special and can't wait to return soon thank you to the staff for their great service.

The rooms here really were great and a bit different to the usual 'older' style hotel/b&bs in windermere. The bed was unbelievably comfy and it was a struggle to get out! And the big hot tube bath with tv was amazing - great way to start a monday morning. The spa wasn't that great though, with the sauna taking over 10mintues to start getting warm and only really a small pool - wasn't too bad though. Mixed service really, one of the reception girls was really nice, the other didn't seem too interested in what was going on and didn't make any great suggestions when we asked on tips on where to eat. Also the staff kept seeming to disappear and we had to go into the kitchen a couple of times to get them and order our drinks. It wasn't awful, but it kind of let the rooms down a bit and could have been a bit better. Also the old lady who looked after the spa bit was really miserable and when she brought us breakfast in bed i think it's fair to say she wasn't a morning person! But overall the hotel was good and for the £130 in the Amarylli suite it was decent value for money, especially in windermere. It was real close to Bowness; maybe about £3.50 in a taxi or 15/20minute walk.

Enjoyable 2 night stay to celebrate my 50th birthday, stayed in the Red Rose room no.10, definitely got that wow factor when the door is open to your room. Very quiet and relaxing surroundings in a fantastic location,15 min pleasant walk into Bowness. Cannot really fault the entire experience, the bed, decor, TV's, hot tub and amazing bathroom made it hard to make the effort to get out and about ( but go and see Bowness and what's on offer ).

Room Tip: Treat yourself to Champagne sitting in the hot tub/ spa bath. Blissful

This is a hidden gem of a hotel! It looks like a normal hotel from the outside, however when you step through the door you will be pleasantly surprised. We stayed in the Bella suite and it was fabulous, like no other hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was on two levels with the bedroom down a small set of steps to a very elegantly decorated room with a large comfy bed. The bathroom was to die for with its own hot tub. The staff were friendly and willing to help in any way they could. Absolutely superb! Will definitely be visiting again!

Just got back from 4 nights at Aphrodities Lodge. We booked the Amaryllis Suite over a month ago deciding on the lake district for a well deserved break. I have never stayed at a hotel quite like this, the staff, the room, the food, were all absolutely flawless. When we first arrived we were given a tour of the hotel and it's fantastic facilities, which really helped us settle in and feel welcome. When shown to our room we were speechless as we found it was even better than it looked in the photo's (which is not usually the case with most hotels!) The room we had booked was one of the cheapest in the hotel and we had lowered our expectations however we were thrilled with the service we received and amazed by the attention to detail. All of the staff are incredibly hard working; reception, breakfast and housekeeping. They are always 100 percent focused, polite and always happy to help. The staff, fantastic food, gorgeous room and the excellent pool/spa facilities made our stay one of the most enjoyable we have ever had. Thanks Guys!
