Had a couple of drinks here on a sunny afternoon the location is beautiful up on a hill over looking the town and the lake. Well worth a visit. The staff though there only a short time seemed very friendly and the beer garden is a must

Just got back from a lovely weekend at The Angel Inn, lovely food including a smashing breakfast, with friendly and very helpful staff.
Bow ness on Windermere is a lovely town with lots of lovely pubs and restaurants, well worth a visit, will definitely go back.

Room Tip: Rooms 4 and 5 to side of hotel were quiet and comfortable

We spent two nights at the hotel and couldn't fault it, either as regards the facilities or the food. We had read reviews of the hotel on Tripadvisor and opted for a "petite double" room, which was fine for us but might not suit anyone wanting more space. Despite the hotel being busy on the day we arrived we were able to park. The hotel staff are friendly and welcoming and the hotel is in a great location for the Bowness waterfront. The food at the hotel, we had lunch, dinner and breakfast

We needed a day away, just chilling, no stress and get away from it all. With one thing and another we'd had a torrid couple of months so needed downtime. We met our friends at the hotel who were already enjoying a beer in the garden. We checked in and we had been upgraded to one of the suites which was brilliant. Couldn't fault anything. The décor, the cleanliness, the bed was massive and comfortable, hot water on tap, iphone chargers the lot.

Bar staff were excellent, couldn't do enough, every attentive and one of my pet hates, glasses not being collected of tables wasn't a problem at all.

We didn't eat in the hotel but we did spend a lovely evening in the garden being entertained by Fiona who stood sang everybodies requests regardless of genre and she knew them all. Brilliant.

We rounded the night of with a drunken game of Jenga with a tequila slammer forfeit for the loser.

Room Tip: Steve, Get the big room!

Four of us stayed in two rooms at The Angel Inn for 3 nights as we were attending a family wedding nearby. I read reviews beforehand that said the rooms are small. This is true but if you do not want to spend a great deal of time in your room then they are fine, the rooms were cleaned every day to a high standard and there was plenty of tea, coffee, milk and even hot chocolate in your room so you could make a hot drink yourself and not be forced to buy hot drinks in the bar. We asked if we would be able to access a room a little earlier than check in time because we had to attend a pre wedding event shortly after we arrived and the staff went out of their way to make this possible. We also returned in the early hours of the morning from the wedding itself and was able to let ourselves in with the minimum of fuss. The staff were excellent, really helpful, friendly and efficient. We only ate breakfast at the hotel but it was very good, well cooked and excellent quality produce. We would definitely stay here again if we were ever to visit Bowness again and would recommend it to others.

The first time we visited they said it was an hour and half wait for food even though they weren't that busy... Looked so lovely though we visited again 2 nights later and weren't disappointed. Food was lovely and reasonably priced and the drinks were too. Would definitely recommend a visit if ur passing through, especially if a nice day/night as lovely seating area outside

Just returned from a trip to the lakes and although we didn't stay at the Angel we spent a lot of time here due to its great food, drink, service and atmosphere.
After a recommendation we headed there for food on our first night. We had a table booked for 6pm but due to the nice weather we arrived at 5 to enjoy a drink in the sun. The outdoor seating area is great and has a lovely views. As an ale man I was very happy with the beer on offer also. As 6pm arrived the sun was still shining so we asked if we could eat outside, this wasn't a problem at all so we got looking at the menus. We opted for the olives, hummus and tiger bread to share followed by Cumberland sausage for me and sea bass for the Mrs. All the food was was great and although not the cheapest place in the lakes still great value.
If you are looking for a great place in bowness with great food, drink and service then look no further.
