On our doorstep whilst staying there. Steep incline to start, No expert climbing gear required or weeks of training. in no time, there is a lovely view of the lake and finally, there is a panoramic view of the Lake, fells, Pennines and even The Irish Sea. Breathtaking.Take a landranger map.

Rewarded with great views of Bowness, Lake Winderemere and beyond after only a short but steep walk. Although some of the trees limit the views in places.

Nice easy walk which only takes about 30 mins with a couple of nice places to stop. A word of warning, the final ascent is up a grassy hill and if your partner is wearing 'Ugg' boots she's likely to slip about 8 times and get very muddy!! So if you want an easy climb in wet weather put some sensible footwear on, if you want some belly laughs say your partner will be fine in the UGG boots :)

My fiancé and I did this walk on a blustery Saturday morning.

The walk itself is easy to find with it veering off if the end of the dales way and the Post knott walk.

It's quite a steep ascent to the top but once you get there it is well worth it! The views are brilliant with the lake being visible from end to end....I got a brilliant panoramic photo! We walked down a different way to coming up which turned our walk into a nice loop of about 2 miles...the walk is manageable in an hour to an hour and a half.

One word of warning it ha rained heavily before we did this walk and it was very slippery under foot with one cocky walker talking a slide!!
