Recently went to #4 on Lake Road, Bowness for some lunch on Thursday 1st May 2014.
We both decided to have the Gammon & Chips with a fried egg which came with a garnish.
We had a short wait as our meal was prepared freshly, but when it arrived we were more than happy with the quality & quantity of the food.
The meal was supported by our order of tea & coffee which were to our expectations.
The café has a modern décor & the staff were friendly & polite.
The only observation we would make is that the food should have been provided with a sharper knife as the available cutlery appeared to be a little blunt.
Other than the above , we both enjoyed this meal & would recommend this café to others.

The café is really well laid out and makes for a pleasant place to refuel. The menu is typically British and offers plenty of choice.

The food was good but nothing we ordered stood out as exceptional. Unfortunately my wife got her sandwiches served on white bread instead of the brown she'd requested - not a major issue but a bit disappointing.

The staff were pleasant and I'd probably go again... if it wasn't for all the competition in Bowness.

Escaped the rain and enjoyed some tea and scones with jam and cream. Lovely atmosphere, friendly service, wifi, and cozy chairs. Pastries were fresh-tasting, reasonable prices. Try it!
