We stayed at this B&B as a one-night stop off whilst travelling north. Judy who runs Lingwood couldn't have been more helpful from the word go - she was willing to take a one night booking and her confirmation by email was very prompt. The Lodge is a short walk from the jetty for the ferry boats (good in summer), and it isn't too far to walk into Bowness/Windermere for the restaurants/shops. The car parking is free and up a private driveway, and was easy for a small car. The rooms are very clean, functional, and well kept - they look recently decorated. Being winter we were pleased to find the room temperature was cosy. The hospitality tray was really thoughtful - herbal teas (hurrah!) as well as the normal caffeine loaded tea, coffee, chocolate - plus bottles of water (amazingly missing from the trays of other B&Bs we have visited before), with biscuits and even mini Kendal Mint Cakes - all of good quality/branded varieties. Judy was very friendly and helpful when we arrived and we were pleased to find we had no stairs to climb so carrying our luggage into the building was very simple as our room was on the ground level. The room was quiet and we had a good nights sleep. The Breakfast Room was a short stroll across the corridor - with both a well stocked breakfast bar to help yourself from (the fruit salad was full of flavour and colour) and a cooked breakfast order taken at your table. I had let Judy know ahead of our arrival that I am vegetarian and wheat free so there was gluten free toast and sausages available. We can't fault the service or the welcome - we would certainly stay again.

I would like to thank Judy for a fantastic stay. Excellent location and wonderful position.
The rooms are excellent and very good value. The breakfast is fantastic and the best I have ever had. Keep up the good work Judy. We have recommended Lingwood Lodge to many people and they have also been very happy with the accomodation. Look forward to returning soon.

Superb accommodation, spotlessly clean, very friendly and helpful.
Lovely daily tea/coffee tray with biscuits and treats, complimentary mineral water also in room.
Super breakfast selection that everyone appreciates. Only go for the full breakfast if you are really hungry! See photo.

Room Tip: Room 3 was perfect.

What a great find! A truly lovely B&B. The room was spotlessly clean, nice size with every little detail catered for. A great selection of ideas in the guest information, a tea and coffee tray, bottle of water and toiletries. Breakfast was superb with a choice - I had omelette one day and scrambled egg and smoked salmon on the other but of course there is always the greedy option of a full english too. A fresh fruit salad and great choice of cereals were available to help yourself in the lovely breakfast room. Location wise it is only a small walk downhill into Bowness Bay so we enjoyed being so close to the pubs and bars and good selection of restaurants in the evening. In the day you are spoilt for choice for walking - a good one is get the boat to the other side and do a walk around Claife Heights or as we did one day got the boat to Ambleside and had a walk around the shops and stopped at Dodds for lunch. An excellent stay - thank you so much.

Room Tip: We had a room on the front with a nice view

My family stayed here in the last week of October and really enjoyed the three nights we spent here. The lodge is situated close enough to Bowness but not too close as being bothered by any noise or crowds, the breakfast is huge and tasty with options for everybody and the rooms were comfy with all mod cons from Wi-fi up to a ipod docking station the beds were comfy and the room was always very warm. I can honestly say that we have not stayed at another B=B that has been as good as this would recommend if you are staying in Bowness.

My wife and I have just spent 4 nights and this bed and breakfast puts many a hotel to shame. The location is so convenient and everything about the room and the establishment is luxurious and very well thought out. On top of this the full english breakfast is as good as we have had anwhere. We will definitely return.

This b&b is perfectly located within 5mins walk into Bowness. Our room was modern, well equipt,en-suite and quiet. To say it was so close to Bowness it's just tucked off the main road to be quiet. There is absolutely nothing to fault at all. The room was spotless. I don't think anything would have been any trouble for the owners. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We had a double en-suite at the rear of the hotel. It didn't have the best view but more than ma...
