“20th wedding anniversary trip - down memory lane !!!”
Reviewed 16 August 2009

Stayed for one night at this wonderful lodge ( wish it could have been more ) - Paul and Judy have created a haven of peace and quiet even though it is only 10 mins walk from all the attractions. Room was beautiful - very clean. lovely bathroom. Very welcoming. Large fluffy towels and lots of lovely complimentary goodies in the bathroom. Judy makes a cracking breakfast and there are an abundance of cereals, yogurts, breads and fruit. Television in room with DVD and a large selection of dvds to choose from. Overall an excellent stay, did not want to leave. Would definetely stay again.

Having first found Lingwood Lodge by chance several years ago my wife and I go back every year. Judy and Paul are extremely friendly hosts and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The accomodation is beyond reproach and the breakfast is more than enough to keep you going throught the whole day! Only a 5 minute stroll down to Bowness but a very quiet and peaceful location where you can unwind and relax. Judy gave us some great recommendations for evening meals at some beautiful country pubs.

The rooms and breakfast at this place are great. There is a louge to relax in and you are only a short walk from the lake and the rest of Bowness. The views are beautiful even though you cannot see the Lake. Went with 7 other people for a family trip away and well worth the money. Excellent little extras such as bottled water in the room, mints and biscuits and lovely toiletries.

My one night's stay at Lingwood Lodge was a truly fantastic one. The room I had was one of the cosiest I've ever stayed in over the years. Everything was spotless and well looked after. Breakfast was good as well with a wide choice of things to order. The house sits a little above the road, so it's really peaceful and quiet, yet you get to the village centre on foot in five minutes.

Superb place to stay, room was fantastic, view, location, breakfast, hospitality. Don't bother searching for hours for somewhere to stay, you will not be disappointed staying here. Many B & B's in Bowness are around the same price, but this place knocked them all off the record with quality and hospitality. Well done to Paul and Judy, it is obvious you enjoy what you do, and by eck, what a damn fine job you do!

What a truly excellent B & B. The location is excellent only being a few yards from the centre of Bowness which has a good selection of shops and restaurants. Bowness is a good location to explore the Lakes. Bowness is right next to Windermere and other locations in the Lake District are a reasonable drive away. One one day we drove all the way from Bowness right over to Whitehaven on the coast (was not very impresses with Whitehaven) back through the Lakes stopping off at Keswick. The kids loved the James Bond museum and the cars of the stars museum and we also took in the pencil museum which was very good. All this driving and still back at the B & B for an afternoon nap before going out for dinner. The B * B itself is wonderful. Judy and Paul give you a very warm welcome and cannot do enough for you. The room we stayed in which was a family room was beautiful. Plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 children. The decor is to a very high standard and tastefully decorated. Little touches like the toiletries in the bathroom and the very well stocked hospitality tray were great. The breakfast, ah the breakfast. Well this is in a league of it's own. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is brilliant and the quality is excellent. The choice is excellent. A couple of mornings I didn't want the full english (which is truly magnificant) but was more than happy with the fresh fruit salad with thick creamy greek yoghurt and chunky white toast with home made marmalde which was so lovely we had to bring a couple of jars back with us. All this was washed down with ample tea or coffee. My husband managed to force down the full english every morning! I would definately recommend staying at this lovely B & B and we will definately return when we next go to Lakes.
