“birthday break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

Booked direct at short notice as treat for my birthday with wife. Lucky to get the suite which was great.loads of space, inside and out. Patio with view over the battlefield to the landslides on a sunny evening. Wine & strand chilled from the fridge was a great bonus. The host was very helpful especially when parking an issue. Breakfast in the room at our own dining table looking over the lake was superb. We,'ve stayed at a lot of the well known hotels (Greenhill, wild boar, the castle, craig manor) as we prefer DB&B deals and have a policy of not going to same place twice as there are so many different places to try, however I would make an exception for the nagoya. Other rooms looked smart enough but seemed "compact".if you get the chance of a stay in the suite, take it!

We have just returned from a 3 night break. Cannot fault anything here - everything was great - even the weather!!(after a negative forecast). Near to Bowness town, great breakfast and great views The room may be a little small - but we only slept there - we had a lovely terrace where we sat looking at the lovely views drinking a glass of wine- what more does anyone want??? We would definitely return. There is also access to a health club - but we didn't have time, had the weather been bad it would have been great to use!

Room Tip: Depends what you like - we were with another couple - they chose to have the king size bed so we had...

Stayed here for a couple of nights recently, the B and B offers stunning views across Lake Windermere and the surrounding area. Our room was clean and comfortable but on the small side compared to another room we were shown by other guests, although we did have a lovely shared terrace to enjoy the views. Trevor, the owner was very welcoming and the breakfasts superb. We are glad we had a small amount of luggage otherwise space in our room would have been very tight. Also I am not a fan of washbasins in the bedroom! The b and b is in an excellent location for walking into Bowness and the Lake Windermere boats trips etc. We would return but would definitely ask for a larger room. The b and B also offers access to a leisure centre, that's if you need one after walking up and down hills all day!

Room Tip: Ask for a family room.

Love everything here. As soon as we arrived, the manager greet us with warm welcome and tell us how to get to the town. He also provided us an early breakfast as we have to leave early in the morning. The location was great, close to town and lake. The room was clean and nice with a great view of the lake. Great value for money. Would definitely stay here again if back to lake district.

We found this b&b by accident while looking for a place to stay in Bowness. It turned out to be the perfect escape.
We were welcomed warmly and the room was comfortable, spotless and featured a lovely cooked breakfast served in the room overlooking the view.
It's very close to the town and had it's own entrance from a terrace where you could sit outside.
I'm so glad we found this place..when the weather was less than perfect we could use our free pass for a nearby gym/swimming pool ...such a plus when you have children.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this b&b.

Room Tip: We used the large family room which included a whirlpool bath (very popular with my son) and breakfa...
