The very friendly welcome made us feel special from the moment we arrived. The refurbishment and redecoration has been tastefully done and the rooms are cosy and relaxing. The full Cumbrian breakfast is a great start to the day. The little personal touches that Maxine and Graham include enhance your stay at The Bay House Lake View Guest House.

Room Tip: Book early !

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed as friends rather than guests. The recently refurbished breakfast room is light and airy. The redecorated bedrooms are comfortable and cosy enough for you to relax after a day at the lake or walking in the hills. The Cumbrian breakfast sets you up for whatever the day ahead has to offer.

Room Tip: Book early as demand will increase as people discover this little gem of a getaway location.

We had a two night stay at the Bay House. Maxine and Graham are a lovely, down to earth, very welcoming couple. They have been in this house for a year and are busy updating the whole place, not an easy task when you need it open for business as usual! The rooms are comfortable (new beds!) and spotless, with the usual amenities, plus...home made cake each day! We also had a great view over the yacht club and lake. Breakfast was lovely, a good menu and quick to arrive. We would be very happy to stay here again, Thanks for a great stay, Rob.

We booked this lovely little guest house as it had good ratings and was centrally placed for Bowness. We had a funeral to attend. The Guest House is literally just behind the church, so perfect for us. It is also exceptionally well placed for all the shops and main attractions in Bowness. Only a minute or two from the lake itself, and our view over the lake was great.
The other real bonus is the parking permit which the owners provide. The car park is really close by. We left our car there for 2 days and did all we needed to on foot. Apparently the permit allows use in other car parks in the area. A real money saver in that case.
From the minute we booked (via booking.com), the communication between us and Maxine and Graham was first class. You really won't find another B & B with a warmer welcome. The proprietors have aimed their hospitality just right.
They are still in the process of updating the old house, but the rooms which have been refurbished are tastefully done, light and airy. Although we had the smallest double room they have to offer, there was sufficient space for us, especially as we were only staying 2 nights. The quality of the bed linen and towels are both of high quality. Every attention to detail had been addressed, even home baked cake each day in our room.
The room was quiet and cosy.
This is an establishment which justifies a 5* rating owing to the service which they are providing and the quality of the breakfast. All the ingredients are locally sourced and are good quality. The cooked breakfast on both mornings was cooked to perfection. Thank you for a lovely break. We'll definitely be returning in the future. In fact after the friendly welcome coupled with location and quality, why wouldn't we want to return?

I took my boyfriend to the Bay House Lake View for his 22nd birthday. We arrived to banners and balloons, chocolates and home made cake! Graham and Maxine were amazing hosts, who couldn't do enough for the both of us. They booked our dinner reservations and helped us with anything they could, even giving me a vase for my flowers!
The breakfast we were served was gorgeous! I've never had anything like it in a guesthouse, set us up for our adventurous days!!
Everywhere was clean and light. We stayed in room 4 and this was perfect for us! The room was spotless every day! With home made cake for us everyday, compliments to Graham.
I cannot recommend this guesthouse enough!! It's in a beautiful location, a minute walk down to the beautiful bay!
Thank you both so much for making our trip the best we've had!

We stayed here over the Easter weekend, we cannot fault Maxine and grahams hard work in the slightest, breakfast was fantastic!! plenty of regional touches within the hotel. It was lovely coming back of an evening to homemade cakes and watching the sun set over Windermere. Very nice people and well worth the stay would happily go back again.
