“A lovely stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 October 2012

We visited the guesthouse for a short weekend break. When we arrived there was nobody at the b&b to greet us, he spoke to us on the intercom, however he explained that he was at the other b&b and would be back soon if needed to speak. We was given a parking permit and there was plenty of car park spaces. The rooms whee really big, and very homely. In the room was a massive bed, hair dryer, tea and coffee making, tv with DVD player and sky box, ensuit bathroom with a power shower, iron and ironing board. The b&b is in a good location, just off the hill not too far of a walk to the lake. Breakfast was very good. Would go back.

Passing through Windermere before reaching Bowness-on-Windermere, we wondered if we had done the right thing? Windermere seemed quite vibrant and lot of interesting shops and restaurants - but Bowness had more! We loved our 2 night stay here at the Eastbourne Guest house; the weather was very rainy and misty for most of the stay but it didn't matter.
The guest house is a lovely old building and our room was large and well-furnished. Breakfast was excellent with the owners taking great care to provide the food we desired. Close to restaurants, shops and the lake itself.

This was our 2nd stay at Eastbourne, returning to the Lakes District after 4 years. We were not disappointed. Martin & Marina still own the guest house and made us feel most welcome on our return. Our room had been completely refurbished to a high standard and as usual, was spotlessly clean. Breakfast is served quickly each morning and any requests for a variation to the standard English breakfast are accommodated willingly. Parking nearby is handy and free wi-fi a bonus. Lake Windermere, shops, restaurants, pubs and a cinema are all close by, so Eastbourne is in a great location. A good nights sleep is assured in the comfortable beds and whisper quiet location.

Room Tip: Ask for a superior double room.

Stayed at the eastbourne guest house over 3 days from Friday, on arrival there was no one there to greet us as it was an automated entry system. We were asked what we would like for breakfast , We told them 1 full English and 1 veggie. Unfortunately the message wasn't passed on and the veggie was not ready and the wife had to make do with 1 egg beans and a hash brown.
As it was, this was the only hiccup as the rest of our stay was very warm and welcoming. The bed was very comfy, the room was very nice as was the bathroom.
Would recommend this guest house, even though the order for the first breakfast wasn't correct the rest was definitely spot on.
Would defanatley return.

Ron and Nicole F
After a week staying at the Eastbourne Guest House, we came back home with great souvenirs from this place, certainly to be recommended! From the beginning of our booking to the last moment, the owners were extremely helpful and very pleasant. The room was spotless and very nicely decorated, the breakfats was just what we could have wished. Every planning was carefully looked after by the owners. We would certainly go back to this place for another holiday in the beautiful area of the Lake District.

Be careful to come before 6 pm, it is the end of check in time. It is quite uncomfortable if you travel on Friday after work. Overal nice guesthouse, good place, fine restaurants outside Bowness. The cabs sometimes guite overpriced, we paid 80 pounds to get to Oxenholme railway station:(
