Eastbourne Guest House

A beautiful guest house which is immaculately kept. It has all the basic facilities that we needed and they served an excellent and very tasty breakfast!
Situated a short walk from the main street in Bowness/ Windermere it is in a great position for the local eateries and pubs.
It was nice to go somewhere which provided excellent friendly service :)

We had a 3 night stay from 30 dec to 1 jan 2011. We could not fault the guest house for cleanliness and very comfortable bed and surroundings. However, for £114.00 per night we required better parking facilities, we ended up parking up the road! We thought there should have been a bar, The breakfasts were offered in small, medium or large and were beautifully presented, , having said that I do not know until the next morning whether I will require a small, medium or large, I think this upset Martins routine a little but having said that he always accomodated my choice. Yes the black mark Martin is you should have the options for mushrooms/black pudding with your breakfast ! (you will know who I am now) I personally hate baked beans but no offer of even an extra half of tomato very disappointing!!!. Cannot fault you on your cleanliness though and lovely clean white towels every day couldn't be better. Keep well and just attend to the tweaks.

My wife and I had a great trip and this guest house was a big part of that. The room was clean, well equipped ,comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was excellent and served with a smile. The host was very friendly and helpful about all things local. The location could not have been better being within walking distance of all the main amenities and the Lake. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for one night for our first wedding anniversary. We were so pleased when we arrived, the room was gorgeous, the bed was so comfortable, there were loads of plug sockets which you never get usually. The decor was beautiful and there was a lovely big couch which was really comfortable. The hospitality tray was fab and had loads of choice available with fruit teas etc. Breakfast was fantastic and really lived up to the reviews it had already received. We would definitely go here again and recommend it to friends. The owner was lovely, really chatty and personable. It is in a great location just a short walk from bowness centre (about 5 mins). The only slight issue was the ipod docking station wasn't working, but we had our own so it didn't cause us a problem.

We stayed here for two nights for our honeymoon and were not disappointed. The room was beautiful - well stocked hospitality tray, (very comfortable), modern tv and a sofa. There was a welcome note explaining the owners health problems (4 operations in one year, but there were several numbers you could ring for assistance). Breakfast was divine - the first morning we had full english. We asked for no beans, but when it came with beans there was no problem changing it. We were asked to pick our breakfast for the next morning off the menu. This seems to be a problem for some people, not quite sure why, it seems a most economical way of purchasing food and very eco-friendly too. We could have changed our minds until 8pm at night and Marina did check in the morning if this was still what we wanted. There was a wonderful selection of jams, marmaldes etc. The thing that we liked most was that when you came in or out there wasn't always someone at reception forever asking if everything is ok or making you feel awkward. It felt like your own home and this is why we will definitely be going back next year for our first wedding anniversary. Thanks for a lovely stay Martin and Marina, see you next year!
