The quality of food and wines are excellent. Freshly prepared food that is locally sourced. Presentation is appealing and content mouthwatering.

We booked here for dinner on New Year's day. The person who took the call was extremely welcoming and friendly in her manner. There was a set menu that did look more expensive than some of the other restaurants in Bowness but we were staying around the corner on a rainy, windy night and so the location was perfect. The reviews of the food that we had read suggested that it was really good, local fare.

There was a bit of a mix up with our order but this was acknowledged immediately and several suggestions were made towards resolution. This was all done in an extremely pleasant way and the situation was resolved very quickly.

The venison en croute and the lemon sole were delicious. The dessert was lovely and the wine list had something for each person in our party to enjoy with the food.

The dining room was cosy with festive decorations.

The food was really very good but the service was outstanding. Each member of staff made a real effort to make us feel extremely welcome as guests.

Ate here on our first night of a two night special offer and so glad we did!
It's not an extensive menu, but the food is excellent, beautifully presented and delicious!
My wife had the curried cauliflower soup, which she loved, followed by the delightful fish dish mains.
My fillet steak mains was beautifully cooked, perfectly to my taste!
The breakfasts at the Burn How are equally excellent and everything is freshly prepared with the main dishes brought to one's table and not the usual buffet style! Wonderful!
This is a great restaurant complimenting a great hotel!
Well worth trying, whether you're a resident or not, and highly recommended!

Had breakfast and dinner here while we stayed at the hotel and both are excellent. The menu choice for dinner is quite extensive for such a small restaurant. The food is cooked perfectly and everybody in my family enjoyed the meal very much!
