Ate here twice and excellent value for money. I had salmon with cous cous and one of the best meals I have had, hubby had fish and chips . The next time we ate there we shared a roast beef sandwich because it was so big. Staff frerindly and helpful. Just a word or warning check your change at the bar because both times we were short changed.

This pub is always busy, a good sign! We always pop in here when visiting Bowness. The wine is always icy cold and the Staff are friendly. Sitting outside in the evening sunshine was great!

Ordered peri-peri chicken and beef&chorizo burger off the lunch time specials menu. Burger advertised as being in a toasted brioche bun...no brioche bun & no toasting! Poorly presented with a single sad looking lettuce leaf & sliver of tomato. Burger cooked to within an inch of it's life and about half the size of the dry pre-sliced bun.
Chicken not as expected - a single chicken leg (...not advertised as being on the bone!) with a sprinkling of some sort of flavoured salt...bland and dry. When advertised as "chefs own" peri-peri chicken we expected something a little more interesting..?!
When we (politely) mentioned the "brioche" bun to the waitress, she responded "oh right...sorry" and left...never to return! We will not be returning either...

Enjoyed a family meal while on holiday. Bit of a wait (1 hour) during evening peak. Sat upstairs in well decorated room. Staff friendly.
