“Excellent service, food and atmosphere”
Reviewed 30 June 2014 via mobile

We nearly walked past as the hotel doesn't look as good on the outside as it does when you go in. It is a well laid out and comfortable bar area with lots of very comfortable seating. Staff were very friendly, service efficient and food very good. Highly recommend.

“Great food friendly service”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

Really good food here and a great atmosphere. It was very busy but was served quickly. Visited Jacksons restaurant in Winderemere last time more expensive food and service not great. Will definitely eat here again than opting for some of the other more expensive restaurants in the area as the food is as good if not better than some places and more friendlier.

“Didn't stay!”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

Had read all the previous reviews & decided sounded like a nice place to try for a meal

Walked in on a weds eve about 6.30, seemed very busy. No help or offer of assistance, we walked around looking for a table, a waitress was quite rude and at that point decided not too stay!

The food may be great, but the welcome certainly wasn't !

Suggest you Walk down the hill to the Viilage Bar & Grill.

“Good hearty meal and great value.”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

We were here two years ago and have just returned for a weeks holiday so thought we would visit The Albert Hotel again. Thankfully we were not disappointed. The food is still of a good standard, hearty portions and great value for money. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Nice pub atmosphere and well worth a visit.

“Excellent Value in the Lakes”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

We were in a rush to catch the boat back to Lakeside and just walked in to the pub because it was the first one we came across. How lucky. The lunchtime specials were nice ( Burger and chips and sausage mash and peas) and excellent value for money especially in Bowness. The beer for a Robinsons house was actually kept well and was drinkable ( Dizzy Blonde). The staff were polite and the service very quick. I would recommend for a lunchtime meal.
