Millwood Lodge & Holiday Cottage

A lovely bed and breakfast , the rooms are clean and well cared for and a comfy bed. David and Caroline are most welcoming and ensure all your needs are met. Breakfast is fantastic and so much to choose from. I agree with previous review try the Brown Cow in Dalton, if you would rather try to the Stagger Inn in Stainton then I suggest you book first.

Our second stay at the best bed and breakfast in the area. Accommodation is spotless, breakfast is varied and caters for all needs. Dave and Caroline are charming and could not have been more accommodating. Eggs are from their own chickens and the Mexican breakfast is a must. For an evening meal try the brown cow pub in Dalton.

Room Tip: Go for the yellow room

We stayed in the Yellow Room and had a wonderful four night stay. The room was warm and cosy and the mattress extremely comfortable, my wife has emailed David and Caroline for details! Breakfast was very good making a lasting start to the day, proper coffee, the Lakeland Breakfast was excellent and personalised to our taste of crispy bacon! I had the smoked salmon one morning and my wife the asparagus with poached eggs and parmesan, both were extremely yummy. The setting is ideal down a quiet lane guaranteeing a good nights sleep, the canopied bed was an additional luxury. Yes we'll be back the next time we visit our family in the lakes, a real gem of a find. Thank you David and Caroline for a memorable stay

Room Tip: Yellow room was just the ticket

We stayed for 4 nights in the yellow room which was beautifully renovated, large with a stunning king size very comfortable bed. The room was better than most four star hotels and the welcome from the owners made for a lovely stay. Breakfast was superb, with fresh eggs from the owners chickens. The location down a quiet lane close to the lovely village of Dalton but four miles from Barrow was very convenient. Take advantage of the footpath further down the lane from Millwood to work off the breakfast. You will. struggle to find a better B and B. Parking was safe and secure.

Room Tip: Ask for the yellow room. If you like dogs ask to meet Dave the owners dog!
