“Ferry to Piel Island”
Reviewed 31 August 2013

Hi
I have rated this as average but we didn't make it onto the Island. I hadn't appreciated what a tiny ferry this was and 77 year old Nana and some nervous teenagers couldn't/ wouldn't get to the end of the jetty let alone board the ferry. We had a morale boosting hot chocolate in the most lovely little cafe the Bosun's Locker just near the jetty - all the tables were reserved and it is clearly a popular place and they kindly squeezed us iin. I will hopefully go to the Island another time as it looks like a real adventure but I hope this photo will help others to be prepared.

“Lovely island”
Reviewed 17 August 2013

We went by ferry from Roa island excellent service from John the ferryman. The island is a lovely unspoiled place to visit. The pub on the island is closed on Monday's we wanted to eat but were told the menu was limited chips or chips! The landlady was quite rude introduced herself as the queen of Piel and she really believes she's a queen maybe she's sampling the stock too much! Take away the landlady and it could be a gem of a place
