“lovely walk”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

just had a little walk along the beach after the hot summers day -very therapeutic! Traffic quiet, weather misty. Then had a drive along the bay looking at the sights

“The Dying Of The Light”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

The best place to go to marvel at one of Furness's spectacular sunsets. Parking is free and the beach, a mixture of stones and sand, provides a grandstand view of the action. Popular with locals and visitors alike. Black Combe, the highest hill in the district, overlooks the scene to the north. In clear weather, the Isle of Man is clearly visible on the western horizon. There are toilets nearby.

“Love Sitting On The Beach”
Reviewed 16 February 2014

Love sitting on the beach front and watching the kite surfers. Certainly some spectacular views. Not really beach for sun bathing, very pebbly, but great in wind and winter, when can see spectacular waves.

“full of poo and rubbish”
Reviewed 8 December 2013 via mobile

this could be a lovely quiet place to walk your dog but the poo and rubbish simply spoils this area.i used to live in barrow and I returned hoping it would have improved.sadly,it is much worse.dog walkers were stepping in poo and didnt even seem bothered.my daughter was born in barrow, but is too young to remember this place.she told me that this place was horrible and dirty and that she wanted to go home.says it all really.wont be returning here.

“stunning scenery”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

This is not a visitors review - I actually live a stone's throw from this beach, I can see the sea from my window. Marvellous beach for walking and playing with the kids, lovely golden flat sand and with the backdrop of the Lake District there is no finer view to be found. National kitesurfing championships are held here in the summer. If you're lucky you may spot a grey seal. When its really clear you can see the Isle of Man to the west and even the tip of the Solway Firth to the north
