“Clean and tidy, no-frills Travelodge”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

Due to the heat wave, staff were forward thinking and opened windows, but shut curtains to make rooms comfortable. I asked for more tea and milk provisions and got plenty. Good position near town centre but not too close, some noise from nearby A590.

First impressions were good. A nice big room that was clean and tidy. It looked great. Unfortunately when we opened the bathroom door there was a smell of drains. Not nice in the very hot weather we were experiencing and later we realised that the extractor system from the bathroom was not working. It let down an otherwise nice accommodation.
We also found the TV system poor. There were very few channels available and no list of the channel numbers to use.
The building as a whole was nice, but if you stay here in hot weather make sure you get a ground floor room. The corridors, and reception area, downstairs were cool so the rooms may have been better.

I stayed here in 2008, before the refurbishment. It was OK then and is better now.
It could do with a larger sign indicating the turn though, I drove past and had to make a U turn, I recall that last time, in the dark, I drove past completely, because the sign is too far from the road.

This travelodge is in a poor location away from the town centre, the surrounding area is a mixture of industrial and retail units. The on site facilities meant that you had to get in your car and drive back into town to find somewhere to have a meal. The signs for the entrance were poor and its a very sharp left hand turn off a busy road.

Stayed in this hotel before and I undesrtand its just had a referb. Money well spent. The room was lovely and clean...very modern. The best thing I noticed the bathroom now had a bath and shower in it...not just a shower. It was immaculate.Travelling alone I felt very safe with the security of the hotel.

The travel lodge was very easy to find and in a great location to get to the town centre and my place of work. The staff member i saw was lovely and sorted a problem i had with my room booking right away. I was situated on the ground floor and the room was fine. It was clean and tidy. The TV didn't work very well but overall was an average room. When it came to going to sleep... The room was not very dark from outside lights getting in through the curtains and the noise from people moving about upstairs was very loud. I was woken at around 3 and 4:30am by noisy floor boards creaking. I choose not to have breakfast during my stay and so cannot comment. It was OK for an over night stay but i'd not recommend for any longer.

Stayed 14/6/14 for 1 night. Great location on outskirts of Barrow In Furness near lots of retail parks and 2 mins walk from Asda. Very pleasantly surprised by a spacious and modern family room, Only downside was that the room was too hot and because our room was the room nearest the main road it was very noisy with the window open, but we managed.
