“5* Luxury Cottages”
Reviewed 18 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Having stayed at Combrew Farm in the past (Tuckers Retreat) we booked The Roundhouse as there would be 4 adults and 2 teenagers. We made our booking online which was hassle free and Sue sent a personal letter, booking confirmation and brochure.

The Roundhouse was extremely spacious, clean, bright and fresh. There were supplies in the fridge and a lovely bottle of red wine too!

The location of the cottages is fantastic. The shopping centres, Fremington Quay (delicious cream teas) and the 180 mile Tarka Trail are only 5 minutes away.

Sue hires mountain bikes for the day at very cheap rates so you can enjoy the surrounding areas. One morning we set off on the Tark Trail from Fremington, cycled to Instow and then onto Bideford. enjoying the lovely countryside and river. There were also a few pubs enroute which we simply had to sample! After a long day out we went back to the cottage and relaxed in the lovely indoor heated pool and jacuzzi before going out for dinner.

There is also a games room on site with darts, table tennis and a full size snooker table to keep the kids entertained on rainy days. As all cottages have free Wi-Fi they made use of this too!

The Wayfarer Inn and The Boathouse in Instow have a great variety of food including lovely fresh caught fish. All of our meals were very tasty and not too expensive.

It's definitely worth taking a drive to Boscastle, Clovelly and Bude. If you have younger children The Milky Way and The Big Sheep are definitely worth a visit (we did these when the kids were younger)

If you want a relaxing break offering home from home facilities then Combrew Farm is the place to go!

“Fantastic - wonderful facilities - homely”
Reviewed 22 January 2014 for a stay in November 2013

We had previously stayed in Tuckers Retreat (2012) and booked both The Roundhouse and Tuckers Retreat for 13 family members for a long weekend (parents Golden Wedding Anniversary). The Roundhouse is a really wonderful cottage - very, very spacious, very high standard, it worked so well for a family celebration (parents could have a bit of a break in adjoining Tuckers Retreat!). Sue and John are extremely accommodating. We all loved the facilities - the swimming pool is excellent, the children also love the animals, especially the hungry goats! Combrew Farm is a very special place and we are already looking for another reason to go back!
