“A home from home, but much better :)”
Reviewed 23 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

This is our second stay at Combrew Farm. The first time, we stayed in Rose Cottage and the adjoining Barn Owl Cottage, and because of the venue and facilities we returned.
This time we stayed in The Roundhouse and its adjoining cottage, Tuckers Retreat.
We had a party of 11, with the age groups going from 18 months up to 88 years !
The cottages were spotlessly clean, and combined, were extremely spacious. The kitchen has a large double oven and gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, toaster, in fact everything you would need to cater for a large party.
The dining room is situated off of the kitchen with a table that seats at least 12 !!!
Leading off of the dining room and a separate hallway, is the living room, probably the most inviting room of the cottage - its huge !!! There is plenty of seating, a large tv, a large wood burner (which was used a lot - not that the cottage was cold, far from it...), and a music system.
Each of the bedrooms were light and airy, with very comfortable beds. The large bedroom, with a four poster bed, had an en-suite shower & toilet. Towels were provided.
The recreational facilities are spot on... There is a gym, sauna, badminton court, tennis court, swimming pool, sauna, pool table, darts, table tennis, air hockey table, trampolines, and outdoor climbing frames... all were used on our stay....
The location of the farm is on the western outskirts of Barnstaple, with local convenience stores approximately a mile in each direction. A few miles back towards Barnstaple is a Sainsbury's supermarket where we made use of their delivery service. Having the food delivered saved time and space in the car.
I cannot submit a review about this fantastic venue without a mention to Sue and her family. Despite all the hard work that is put in to maintaining the cottages and facilities (let alone running a working farm) it always seems that nothing is too much trouble, and everything from the initial booking to the checking out was made so easy...
Our friends from this trip have already booked for next year, and we are invited... can't wait :)

“Amazing place to stay!”
Reviewed 18 September 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Our family - with ages ranging from 4 to 67 - had a wonderful week staying in The Round House at Combrew Farm.

Everything there seemed geared to ensure that we had a week living in luxury with beautiful, natural surroundings. The children loved the animals, the play park, the little stream outside the front door and of course the swimming pool.

Every kitchen facility was provided, as well as store cupboard basics which was greatly appreciated. The provision of biscuits and Combrew Farm fresh eggs was an unexpected delight!

The owner was always on hand to provide information etc but we were totally undisturbed. It was a superb holiday - even though we weren't too lucky with the weather.

“Wonderful holiday!”
Reviewed 17 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We have stayed at Combrew Farm for the second time in a row with our two teenage daughters and we love it! The location is perfect to reach all the fantastic beaches and amazing walks in North Devon. What we particularly enjoy is hiring their high quality mountain bikes and cycling as a family all along the Tarka trail and stopping off for a drink or lunch. We also enjoy swimming in their indoor pool and playing table tennis. It's got everything a family needs and we would thoroughly recommend.

“A perfect place for a family holiday”
Reviewed 12 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We stayed at Combrew Farm as a family group of 19 (ages 1 - 68), using all the cottages. The general reaction on arrival was "Wow!" and we were still as impressed at the end of our week's holiday. What a wonderful place!
The accommodation in the Roundhouse was excellent. It was beautifully maintained and very well equipped, with really comfortable beds. It was so spacious that we were all able to gather there. The leisure facilities on the farm were a real bonus, with something for everyone whatever the weather. We all enjoyed the very warm pool which gave the younger children a great opportunity to gain in confidence and improve their swimming, while older more serious swimmers enjoyed swimming against the jets. The children loved the trampolines and were fascinated by the goats. We also made good use of the badminton court, games room and the very well equipped gym.
The location was great for exploring the area. The local beach at Instow was great for little ones to play in the sand, while Woolacombe and Saunton provided good opportunities for others to enjoy the surf. The Tarka Trail was ideal for cycling, with bike hire from the farm being yet another great provision. The owners have clearly tried to think of everything to make a stay there as enjoyable as possible. They were so welcoming, friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We had a fantastic time and hope to return.

“Brilliant accommodation, amenities and location”
Reviewed 31 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

A family group of 9 of us ( aged 17 to 75) spent a lovely relaxed week in the Roundhouse in July. The accommodation in the Roundhouse was was superb. It was very well-equipped and the beds were comfortable. The amenities on the farm were also excellent and we made full use of the spa, the games room, the badminton court, the trampolines and also borrowed the barbecue. Daily visits to see the goats, the rabbit and the chickens were also entertaining and the odd visit from Arthur the cat was also welcome, The location of the farm is brilliant for exploring the many local beaches as well as the local laser quest, rifle shooting, go-karting and crazy golf establishments, The Fremington Cafe is definitely worth a visit. There are plenty of good local pubs that serve food and we had our final meal at BlueGreen restaurant in Westward Ho! which has a lovely view over the sea and serves excellent food. Our week went far too quickly. We would not hesitate recommending Combrew Farm and hope to return.

“Spacious, convenient and almost perfect place”
Reviewed 9 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We had an absolutely wonderful week at the Roundhouse. There was plenty of space and plenty of rooms. The owners were friendly and accommodating. It rained 4 out of the 6 days we were there - but there was plenty to do inside the house and the games room to keep us relaxed and the kids entertained.

The cottage was remarkably clean and fresh. This is the first place we've stayed where the cleanliness reached our expectations.
When we asked the owners for specific things that we needed they brought them over to us.
The beds were surprisingly firm and comfortable. This was a bonus for us as we usually get bad backs when we go on holiday.

The water in the pool was nice and warm - perfect for the young kids. Although the pool room itself was a little too hot for me.

A tiny number of the plates, cutlery and cups were dirty. However, I must emphasise this was not the norm. Everything else in the well-equipped kitchen was clean and tidy and you could see the owners had put a lot of thought into making sure we had everything we needed.

The outside area was great for the kids... they loved the goats and the trampolines and went out to the play area every day. I think a small ladder to help the kids on to the trampoline would have been a bonus and a safety net on at least one of the trampolines would have eased my heart.

Overall, this was the best place we've stayed at and would love to come back again soon. So relaxing, convenient and an almost perfect place to stay whilst in Devon.

Very comfortable and well equipped, clean accomodation with good facilities for all the family. Ideally located for exploring north devon and the bike hire is very reasonably priced.
