Singles, couples or large groups, Arlington Court has something to enjoy for everyone of any age. The house is fascinating with a quiz for the children to complete. Whilst the grounds and garden offer either a relaxing stroll or an exilerating ramble, whatever suits your mood, or ability! For that perfect trip out you can not better this magical place.

Rather plain looking from the outside as far as NT properties go but, the inside and interesting collections more than make up for it. The kitchen garden even in November had lots of interest.

The church in the gardens with it's tributes to the Chichesters is well worth a visit.

The bonus with this property is the excellent National Carriage Collection. Though, not on the day we visited there are horses and demonstrations to be experienced.

The shop which you can't avoid is worth perusing and the tea room has a range of items to tempt most taste buds.

Just returned from a week in Devon and as National Trust members always look for local places to visit. We went last year and enjoyed it so thought we'd go again.

The place is still great and a good place to visit in all weathers. The grounds and house are lovely and the carriage museum amazing. Lots of places to shelter if it rains. The shop is good with reasonably priced items. They could maybe improve on the items for kids. There didn't seem to be much of a selection.

The new natural woodland play area was good and the kids enjoyed that. Some more picnic benches would be good in this area as there were lots of people standing up trying to eat picnics. With children this can be tricky and very messy.

The bat cam is a great idea and so interesting to watch the bats live. The Halloween craft activities were a good idea as well. The kids loved making bats.

We'll definitely visit again.

There is quite a lot to see, especially the Carriage Museum, which includes the Speaker's State Coach.

I visited Arlington Court more to visit the carriage museum than the house, but spent more time in the house due to the rather windy weather!
The carriage museum was interesting and well laid out, with some fine examples of rare carriages. I was rather taken with the cabriolet on the first floor.
The house itself was beautiful and well thought out with a clear route that made sense and told a story.
However the room stewards were although friendly, not very forthcoming with information and somewhat disengaged from the visitors.

The highlight for my husband and I was a lovely talk with a conservator who was cleaning the model ships. He had just finished cleaning ship #64 and was clearly passionate about the ships and more than happy to take the time to explain how the models were being cleaned, the equipment/materials he was using, problems that he found and how he overcame them.
