This Premier Travel Inn is a new modern building, clean, close to the City centre and has very helpful staff. We had 2 adults, 2 children (15/13) staying in the one room comfortably. While the hotel is close to numerous bars and restaurants there were no issues with noise at night. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant which, while very busy, was well worth the wait and excellent value! Highly recommend this hotel as a excellent place to stay in Durham.

This was our first experience of a Premier Inn as we would not normally choose a big 'chain' hotel. It was a pleasant surprise and we would definitely give Premier a go again if booking another city break . The location was ideal for us as we were travelling by train and we walked to the hotel in less than 10 minutes. It's a really central point from which to explore this lovely old city. Staff were particularly friendly and helpful- we were given access to our room on the morning we arrived and they will happily store your luggage after checking out - worthwhile if you're only on a short break and want to make the most of your time. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good value.

You need to park in the pay and display car park around the back. Don't buy a pay and display ticket, if you have a booking go to the kiosk by the car park entrance and pay a reduced rate direct to the attendant who will provide you with a receipt.
Go up the steps at the far side of the Premier Travel Inn and you're two minutes away from bars, restaurants and shops. A ten minute walk up hill to the Cathedral and Castle.
We had a very large bed which was very comfortable. Heating controls worked well. Tea and coffee facilities in the room.
We didn't eat at the hotel and the restaurant did look quite small and was very busy at dinner that night.
Highly recommend this as a reasonable place to stay in Durahm.
