Stayed here for free as part of the 'premier inn great night giveaway'.

Staff very helpful and welcoming- provided us with a street map and gave us some directions to the shops, bars etc and explained about car parking.

Room very clean and spacious, bed very comfy and no noise from outside (room was facing the swimming baths). Good shower and bath and room temp spot on.

Car parking a few minutes away- dont go to the pay point but the office at the entry area-there is a discount for hotel guests only £7.50 for 24hrs rather than standard £9.

Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for one night and except for the fact that the shower soap dispenser was empty, we had no problems. Room and bathroom was clean and breakfast was very good. Note that parking isn't free, neither in the parking house by the hotel or in the car park across the street. There was some noise during the night from nearby bars but that's to be expected if you want a central location. At the full rate, price is comparable both to Mariott and Radisson in Durham and would probably choose either of those over Premier Inn but if you manage to get a discounted rate by booking early (which we did), this hotel provides excellent value for money.

We found the hotel just off the main road, and there is a car park just at the rear. The staff were very friendly and had an excellent knowledge of Durham and other nearbye attractions. The room was very clean, and noise free. The location of this hotel is brilliant for visits to Durham centre. There are several eateries / pubs within easy walking distance.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the Sports Centre are quieter than those nearer to the local pub

We stayed at the hotel on a Sunday and Monday night we were not botherd by any noise on those evenings from the nearby restaurants and bars.Next door to the hotel is a lesuire complex so i will definatley be taking my swimming costume next time. Hotel is well within walking distance of all Durhams attractions but i also noticed a bus stop outside with buses taking you to the Cathederal. The hotel staff were very friendly and approachable without being intrusive, rooms were very clean and tidy,i found the bed very comfortable but my husband found it a bit on the soft side.We opted for the £22 meal offer and it turned out to be good value for money with a fair amount of choices. We will definately return to this hotel again for a short break.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights at a total cost of £58. I would recommend this hotel if you are visiting Durham as all the main tourist attractions are within walking distance. There is also a cinema/theatre complex within 5 mins walk from the hotel. The rooms are always the same in all Premier Inn hotels and this continued the high standard. The staff were welcoming on arrival. We parked our car in the multi-storey car park adjacent to the hotel and paid £9 for each 24 hours of our stay. We were not told that by paying the car park attendant direct that this would be reduced to just £7.50 so that is worth noting. We did not eat at the hotel at all as there are lots of cafes and restaurants around offering good value food. If you are arriving by car and have a sat nav I would make sure you set this exactly right as it was only by chance that we eventually found the hotel - we got lost in the city centre and arrival was a little fraught. Probably my fault as I decided to ignore the sat nav!!
