Great weekend away in Durham we have stop in other hotel in Durham but stop here and the rooms were nice and clean bathroom was bit small but we were only stopping one night it was close to the bars and restaurants and a title walk from the train station which is always good and right next to the river
Stayed over weekend of 1-2 December and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Family room nice & comfortable, heard little bit of noise but considering the location thought this was at an acceptable level...didn't stop any of us sleeping.
Ideal location meant that we could pop back pretty much any time we wanted to drop shopping off.
Staff very friendly and welcoming...couldnt knock the place really.
Journey back home...now thats another story with train delays and stuff..but all in all a great base for a great weekend.
With a Premier Inn you expect cheap a chearful stay but when you have no electricity it turns into a night of hell. We checked in and whilst trying to work I noticed that the desk light did not work. Then getting ready to go out in the evening we noticed that the heating did not work. Reporting this to reception we were told that while we were out they would check the problem out and if they could not get the heating working they would put a heater in the room. Returning from our evening out our room was freezing cold with no heater in the room as promised. I went to reception to report and was given a heater to cart back to the room only to find when I plugged it in that it did not work. I went to reception again and this time the receptionist came back to the room with me and after disappearing into a service room there was an almighty bang and the heating came on. We finally got to bed only to wake in the night to find that the heating was off again and the room was ice cold. After sleeping on and off for another couple of hours I again went to reception to report and after the receptionist went into the service room the same loud bang followed and all of the appliances again sprang to life. After breakfast, overcrowded but good quality none the less we got back to the room to find, you guessed it we again had no electricity.
