Found the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and well furnished. Ensuite good, with good shower. The breakfast was excellent and staff were efficient. Nice position next to the river and easy access into Durham. You do need to be active though as there is a climb up to the town centre.

Thank you for the review of the hotel.
I am pleased that you had a good stay with us.
Just to let you know that there is a bus that goes into the marketplace and the cathedral so you dont have to worry about the incline

Went for our silver wedding. Unknown to us family notified hotel. On arrival we were upgraded to. Business class room and had wine and some strawberries courtesy of hotel staff. Breakfast super, staff very attentive and they were very busy but so customer focused. Pool area good as well. Thank you radisson blu for a fantastic stay. During our stay the staff were very friendly and helpful, the pool area was nice and clean. The breakfast was lovely and the waiting staff very helpful. The hotel is within easy walking distance to the City Centre. Would stay here again.

My partner treated me to a weekend away in Durham bought as a Christmas present Id been looking forward to it for a couple of months. Very pleased with the room, decor and aspect all very nice, bed was comfortable but being two singles pushed together the inevitable dip in the middle was a bit of a bug bare. However not the end of the world, and the room was both clean, a decent size and well equiped, perfect base for a stay in this small and historic city. Close to the centre and the convenience of the footbridge across the river and directly into the centre was all very positive. Where the hotel let themselves down was the breakfast, for such a large chain hotel to get it so wrong was beyond me, the hot buffet style would have been fine used to facing this in most hotels these days but the clue is in the name 'Hot' Buffet....at best it was luke warm, the mushrooms didnt look like they had seen any kind of cooking pot and the egg ordering system was just daft! staff on the floor seemed to be content cleaning tables and avoiding eye contact as that might mean they have to do something like serve your coffee or attend to that stupid egg ordering process. Anyway towards the end of of our breakfast on the second day, my girlfriend, not backward at coming forward, excused herself from the table and went to see the duty manager to complain....only to be told "mmhh your not the first to say its not so warm..." give me strength why oh why havent you done something about it then??!!?? Shame this took the shine off the experience, other than that, nice well apointed hotel, nice facilities, nice rooms, good location.

Having stayed in two Radisson Blu hotels in the space of a few days - this one and the other Heathrow - this was certainly the better of the two. The rooms are extremely spacious and offer a nice view of the canal running through Durham. The staff are welcoming and efficient. I found the corridors in the hotel very quiet at night which was pleasing. One complaint I have of the room is the lack of plugs next to the bed for charging a mobile or laptop. Breakfast is reasonable with a choice of hot foods, cereal and pastries. Would recommend and would stay again for business or pleasure.

This was the first time staying in this hotel and I was disappointed despite its excellent position by the river and within walking distance of this lovely city. The hotel was full as there was a function on the Saturday evening but arriving in early afternoon there were no parking spaces and cars were parked on the roadside. The rooms are good and have all facilities you expect. Dinner was ok but the breakfast was uninspiring and a bit tasteless. I have stayed in Radisson hotels before but this one was disappointing.
