We booked into the Rouge for one night to visit our youngest daughter two weeks into Uni. A really great, little place, with a very individualistic style. The room was small but made excellent use of the space, and had a really comfortable bed. I particularly liked the glass shower between the bedroom and the bathroom - perfect for the body conscious exhibitionist! My wife said it provided the perfect Debbie Harry moment 'her perfect hour the one she spent watching me shower'. The restaurant offers good quality at a reasonable price in a fabulous salon environment - we had dinner, breakfast and lunch there, and enjoyed all of these. Good Sunday roast, which we enjoyed with my daughter and her friend. The bar also has a great drinks menu. Friendly, approachable staff, who were always happy to help.

Room Tip: All rooms are individually decorated so view on the website to find one that suits.

We stayed for one night in the Cruise room. The decor of the hotel is fantastic. The room itself was really lovely. The only niggle was how warm it was compared to the rest of the hotel, just a bit uncomfortable throughout the night. The bar is great and it was lovely to have a cocktail before heading out. Breakfast was yummy and the waitress was lovely. Would def return.

Just spent 2 nights in the Ruby , great room small but indulgent, luxurious and comfortable.
The bath at the end of the bed was just fabulousness . Some great cocktails served in the bar and a really nice breakfast . Every member of staff we met was friendly and chatty we asked to see another room we liked the look of and it was no trouble at all to show us round , we will definitely be back . Parking was easy outside it costs £1 hr between 8am-6pm but top up the meter in the evening it carries over till next day so no need to get up early .

Room Tip: I'd be more than happy with any room.

Stayed overnight for our wedding anniversary, had the delightful Eden lodge room with the outdoor hot tub. Room was lovely, clean and very comfortable. We used the hot tub, it would have been nice if we had been able to turn off the outdoor lights or dim them a little, or even some outdoor candles in lanterns would have been a nice touch. Also the hot tub was a little too hot, and was a little uncomfortable to be in for any length of time.

We ate in the hotel restaurant on the evening and the food was fabulous, we both had the fillet steak and it was amazing, it was just a little too warm in the restaurant, but fab food !

This hotel is the zaniest, yet the best, that I have ever stayed at. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff (they even found the name of the wallpaper I had admired). The room was delightful, small but tastefully furnished with appropriate accessories. I loved the whole bag of Thorntons chocolates, miles better than the small piece usually left on your pillow and the copious supply of bottled water was also appreciated. The eggs benedict at breakfast were also a scrummy.
I can thoroughly recommend this hotel and will definitely return.

Room Tip: The hotel is in a quiet setting in strolling distance to town so all the rooms are quiet

I booked the hotel for a 'date night' away with my husband - a break from the children and dogs! We ended up in their last room for the weekend but at a very reasonable rate. We were given the Edwardian Express which was of a medium size, quirky, interesting and comfortable. They just need to sack the person who siliconed around the bath! We ate in their restaurant - meal was very good, the steak tasty and nicely cooked. Wine was reasonably priced. Breakfast was delicious too - Eggs Benedict were perfect. The restaurant decor is lovely and a pleasure to dine in. The staff are very pleasant, welcoming and professional. The only criticism was that some parts of the paintwork up the staircase needs attention. I would wholeheartedly recommend this delightfully quirky hotel and would like to stay there again.
