“Fabulous Day Out!!!”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

We went for our fourth visit on Thursday 24th July - there's always something different to see and experience ! Wonderful facilities and everywhere is always lovely and clean. Great lunch in Cafe Italia and a fun round of crazy golf ! The staff are plentiful and always happy to help if required. Highly recommended!!!

“Another fab day out”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

My kids love this place.
2nd visit within a few weeks of each other. Always go for when it opens at 10. Start off with a coffee whilst the kids play in the indoor soft play. Then head outdoors. Spoilt for choice. Bouncing pillows are a brilliant idea. Not seen them anywhere else. The views are amazing over the valley. Was a scorcher today though. So our pace of getting around was slower. We consumed plenty of bottles of chilled water and ice creams.
The water war was a great idea, especially in this heat.
As a parent we always look for cleanliness and service. This place is the cleanest of all the outdoor children's farm and outdoor play areas you will visit in the north east. The staff are always pleasant and friendly too. My daughter wants a roller skating party here. So will be looking into this in the coming weeks.
Be back very soon!

“Ok, but can go to better at home, and for less money”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

We went Fri 25 July. We did expect it to be busy as it was summer holidays and weather was beautiful. On arriving at car park at 1pm we were surprised it see it not as busy as we expected.
We paid the high entry price and bought the animal food and in we went. First we went into the animal barn and son fed the goats and Alpacas. Did wonder why all the animals in the barn were not in pens outside, especially in the beautiful sunshine.
Then to the small reptile house. Again son enjoyed trying to spot the reptiles but I did expect it to be bigger.
Walking to outside areas you have to go past some very smelly chicken pens.
On walking round round the rather lacklustre pond, feeding more goats and sheep on the way round, we did wonder why the earlier goats and Alpacas were not in much larger outdoor 'fields' as well. Perhaps we shouldve asked.
Son went on the runaway racers which he loved. Walked down the hill to the 'fish frenzy'. It mustve been a long time ago that there was ever a frenzy in this pond. Son paid the 20p for some fish food to through in, expecting the 'frenzy' of feeding fish. Not one fish was interested, perhaps they coupldnt even see the food as water was filthy. It even looked like there was a dead fish in the pond but couldnt find a staff member to ask.
Son then enjoyed playing in the fort before another shot of the runaway racers.
By this time we were rather hungry so ventured into Cafe Italia. No pasta dishes on a Cafe Italia menu (it did say pasta dish on black board but it said beef with dip??) so ordered pizza and burger and chips. Son played in the soft play area. Thankfully it wasnt too busy as it didnt seem to be monitered at all.
On leaving, we paid extra for the adveture golf. Enjoyed this but have certainly been on crazier golf courses.
We did spend a few hours in here. largly due to son playing in the play areas.
We travelled down from Glasgow (thankfully not specifically for this) and although my son enjoyed it I expected more. There are places like this near me that are better.

Dear kwazzio,

Thanks for your review. Please let me address some points raised.

We have animals in our indoor farmyard and also in the paddocks outside around the perimeter of the park. The animals are periodically swapped from the paddocks to the farmyard . We wouldn't move them outside because it was sunny.

The pond water wasn't filthy, it was the amount of algae as we'd had a few hot sunny days. Algae grows more during hot weather. This has since been treated.

There has never been a time when pasta has not been on in Cafe Italia. The pasta special was written on the blackboard along with the beef dip. These were two different dishes. I apologise if this wasn't clear and I'll have a look to see if it needs to rewritten.

The indoor soft play is monitored by the staff in the cafe. The amount of staff dedicated to monitoring the soft play depends on how busy it is.

We're pleased you spent a few hours here and seemed to make the most of the facilities.

Kind regards,

Richard

“A must visit!”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

Loved this place - took 3 children 4/5/7 - something for everyone. Lots of cars in the car park but never felt too busy. Boys always able to go on what they wanted without having to wait. They spent hours in the fort - able to be out and indoors depending on the weather. Searching for gold was a very entertaining and novel idea. Café OK but would take a picnic next time.
