Excellent staff – the staff were fantastic at setting everything up, making sure the day ran smoothly, and above all, the staff were very polite and friendly. It all contributed to us enjoying our wedding day.
The rooms are really nice – beautiful bathrooms.
Thank you.

I've recently stayed at Ramside for my step son's wedding.
I could not of asked for a more perfect day from the first meeting with Sarah to the day itself. Check in was simply, quick and very friendly. We ate in the carvery the night before the wedding and got two main meals for £10-bargain.
On the day we met Christina and her team. who I can say worked hard to make this day perfect for them, herself and her staff were on hand at all times and even catered for the awkward family members-Massive thank you. Breakfast was extensive plenty of choice only downfall-could have had more staff on a busy Sunday but self service is helpful.
Thank you Ramside for this amazing day.

We stayed for three nights at the Ramside Hall hotel recently and had a brilliant time. We visited Durham town, went up to see the Angel of the North (or Rusty Rita as we're told she's known as) and spent almost a whole day in the excellent Beamish Museum. There is so much else to do in the area that we just have to come back. Our room was superb, especially the huge double ended bath in the room and the bed the most comfortable we have slept in for a long time (including our own!). This is a really lovely hotel with staff that really know how to make you feel welcome and genuinely care about your well-being. We eat in the Rib room on the first night and although we thought we would try out the Carvery, in the end we never strayed and eat in the Rib room for all three nights as the food was so good. Breakfast was brilliant and a hotel that manages to make decent softly, scrambled eggs on a breakfast buffet deserves all the praise you can throw at it. Needless to say, we want to come back and look forward to visiting next year when the new Spa complex opens.

Spacious and clean rooms, brilliant customer service. The hotel is really comfortable and furnishhings and decor really nice, home form home. The steaks in the resturant were really lean and tasty and so was the rest of the food. The choice of food at breakfast was extensive. Was very impressed, good value fo rmoney.

I was only at the hotel for one night but it made a very good impression. Although a significant re-development was under way it did not cause any loss of service. The check-in was smooth and efficient and the suite (313) was one of the best I have ever stayed in, just a pity I never had the Mrs with me! A fabulous suite with a big walk in shower was the focal point of the bathroom but the jewel was the four poster, I've never had one before! Very comfortable and the whole room was beautifully appointed.
Breakfast was on a self serve buffet style but everything was cooked to perfection and plenty of variation was available, more from the menu if booked in advance.
This was my first stay here but hope it isn't the last.

Room Tip: My own room was perfect so aim for 313

Spent four wonderful nights here visiting Durham, Beamish museum and Bishop Aukland Castle.

No need to venture out in the evenings for a bite. As the hotel catered for most taste in the way of food.

The room was lovely and large and well made-up each day.

The Team around the hotel could not have looked after our need better.

A memorable first stay and well done to all.

We stayed after a friends wedding. If you're at a wedding then you should get a slightly discounted room.
I've stayed a few times after various functions and the hotel is nice but I wouldn't go any further.
The rooms I feel are slightly overpriced but it's nice as a treat.
Don't bother with the room service. We paid £20 for the driest sandwiches I had ever had and we couldn't eat them. I wouldn't be surprised if they were taken straight from the Buffett from 5 hours before.
It is a very beautiful hotel, bathroom was gorgeous and opulent, room was large however we had a four poster, this was only because no normal doubles were left at the time of booking.
Breakfast was lovely and self serve full English. You could have something else if you wanted to order
The ramside is exactly what you would expect really. Just wish they charged a bit less!
I will say however drinks are very very overpriced. We were drinking soft drinks for best part of the day and still managed to spend nearly £180 between us!

Thank you for your comments and can i say that we would not have used sandwiches from a previous buffet. We also check our prices on a regular basis with other 4 star hotels on both room rates and bar prices. Once again thank you for your comments
